Ken Cruse

Ken Cruse is co-founder of Alpha Wave Investors. Prior to forming Alpha Wave Investors, Mr. Cruse was Chief Executive Officer and a director of Sunstone Hotel Investors (“Sunstone”), a ~$5 billion total enterprise value publicly traded REIT (NYSE: SHO). Mr. Cruse joined Sunstone April 2005 as Senior Vice President—Asset Management, and was appointed Senior Vice President—Corporate Finance on September 1, 2006, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on January 1, 2007, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on February 18, 2010, President and Chief Financial Officer on December 17, 2010 and as President and Chief Executive Officer and a director on August 5, 2011. From December 2007 through January 2015, Mr. Cruse was a director of BuyEfficient, LLC, a subsidiary of Sunstone. For the eight years prior to joining Sunstone, Mr. Cruse worked in a variety of roles for Host Marriott Corporation, the predecessor of Host Hotels and Resorts, Inc., most recently as Vice President, Corporate Finance. Prior to working for Host Marriott Corporation, Mr. Cruse held various corporate positions with Marriott International, Inc. Mr. Cruse started his hotel career in 1991, working various management-level operating positions at the Marco Island Hilton. Mr. Cruse is actively involved in various industry and professional organizations. He is a member of the board of directors of Morgans Hotel Group (Nasdaq: MHGC). Additionally, Mr. Cruse is a member of GenNext and the Southern California Chapter of Young Presidents Organization. He is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Colorado State University Warner College of Natural Resources. He previously served as a director of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (“AH&LA”), and has been a member of the Executive Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and CEO Council for AH&LA. Mr. Cruse is also a past member of the Real Estate Roundtable. Mr. Cruse is a member of the board of directors for Miracles for Kids, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving children with life-threatening illnesses and the families that care for them. Lindsay Monge is a founder of Alpha Wave Investors. Prior to forming Alpha Wave Investors, Mr. Monge served as the President of BuyEfficient, LLC from June 2015 to September 2015, where he directed the sale process of the company to Avendra, LLC. Prior to joining BuyEfficient, Mr. Monge had more than fifteen years of experience with Sunstone, having joined Sunstone in July 2000 as Analyst – Acquisitions and was subsequently appointed to Manager – Acquisitions in October 2001, Vice President – Treasurer in April 2003, Senior Vice President – Treasurer & Secretary in March 2010, Senior Vice President – Chief Administrative Officer, Treasurer and Secretary in February 2013 and Senior Vice President – Corporate Finance and Treasurer in February 2015. Mr. Monge was charged with leadership of all treasury-related functions, as well as enterprise risk management and placement of corporate insurance programs (property, casualty, workers compensation and directors & officers), information technology, human resources and office administration. Mr. Monge worked directly with the Chief Financial Officer on various capital markets and investor relations initiatives. Between 1995 and prior to joining Sunstone in 2000, Mr. Monge served in various capacities in hotel operations at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York, New York and the Westgate Hotel in San Diego, California. Mr. Monge holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University (May 2000) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University (May 1995).
