Senior Vice President Property Management

Donald Ayres

Donald Ayres brings 30 years of management and development experience to American Life, Inc. Prior to joining the company, he was with Health Force Partners as a founding member and served as senior VP of 12 physical therapy clinics and 4 regional occupational medicine clinics in King and Snohomish Counties. Don has been working in the Seattle business community for 30 years. He was a founding partner in Eagle Rehab in 1992, a 40-office group of clinics through Washington State. There he served as regional manager in charge of operations, facility development, and property management and oversaw budgeting and business development for 17 clinics. Prior to that, Don founded Therapy Network Services, a 175-member IPA in 3 states that contracted with insurance companies to provide rehabilitation. Don received his BS in Athletic Training from Washington State University and his post-graduate degree in physical therapy in 1976 from Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. He has served as board chair for Washington State Private Practice and Socioeconomic Chairman for The Washington State Physical Therapy Association. Don has also served as president of Everett Golf and Country Club in 2001. He currently serves on the board of directors and is vice chair of the Providence Everett Medical Center Foundation.

Hal Beals

Before joining American Life in 2015 as Director of Investor Relations, Hal was Senior Vice President of Business Development for commercial banking at Wells Fargo Bank in Seattle. His professional career has been in the financial markets with Wells Fargo, Cigna, Merrill Lynch, and Washington Mutual serving individuals and businesses in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Early in his career he was an exploration division accountant in Alaska with Chevron Oil. He has served as a Trustee for the Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Anchorage (Alaska ) Symphony and leadership positions in Rotary District 5030 and President of the University Sunrise Rotary Club. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

Sandi Hefferman

As the Vice President of Finance, Sandi oversees the organizational functions of accounting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, risk management and human resources. She is a member of the executive team and fills an active leadership role throughout the organization. Sandi started with American Life, Inc. as the Corporate Controller in May 2014. As Corporate Controller, she was responsible for all aspects of operational accounting, compliance, tax and financial reporting. Sandi is a CPA with over 20 years of experience directing finance and accounting functions in various industries. Prior to American Life, she served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller of Red Lion Hotels Corporation in Spokane, WA. She previously worked in key accounting and financial positions, including Controller and Assistant Controller roles, for various public companies and private organizations. Ms. Heffernan has been employed by several notable companies, including PepsiCo Food Systems, Dell Computer Corporation and the National Football League. Sandi graduated from Texas A&M University in 1992 with a Bachelor in Business Administration in Finance and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1996 with a Master of Science in Accounting. Ms. Heffernan is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Washington State. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Larry Ice

Larry Ice is a former CPA with over 29 years' executive level experience in all aspects of commercial real estate finance, accounting, development and administrative functions. Before joining American Life in 2012, Larry served for 9 years as vice president and chief financial officer of Kemper Development Company in Bellevue, Washington, a prominent Puget Sound area developer/owner/operator where he successfully structured, negotiated and placed over $1.5 billion of debt and equity capital to finance expansion of the company's real estate portfolio. He also led strategic financial planning, spearheaded a major corporate restructuring and engineered numerous improvements to the company's financial reporting and information management systems. Prior to Kemper Development, Larry managed finance, accounting and information technology for Fisher Properties, Inc. in Seattle which was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fisher Communications, Inc. Before his career in real estate, Larry worked for several years as a certified public accountant specializing in real estate and partnership taxation, starting out with Coopers & Lybrand in Kansas City, Missouri. Larry is a graduate of the University of Kansas and holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Urban Land Institute.

Gregory Steinhauer

Gregory Steinhauer is a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (1984) with a Bachelor of Science in economics. He has spent his entire working career in construction and real estate development. He currently directs all American Life, Inc. large-scale development projects and oversees SODO Builders, the company's in-house construction company. A lifelong resident of Seattle, Greg served as president of a construction and residential development company for 15 years that specialized in urban infill mid-rise projects. Just prior to joining American Life, he was vice president of development for a billion-dollar institutional real estate investment firm in which he was active in acquiring and entitling several projects. Greg currently serves on the boards of the Seattle Police Foundation and the World Trade Center.

Henry Liebman

In 1996, Henry Liebman founded American Life, Inc. and has since served as our Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, he oversees all daily company operations and strategic planning. Henry has more than 20 years of experience in real estate law and immigration law and more than 30 years experience in commercial real estate management and investment. He has served as Managing Partner of Coe Nordwall Liebman, LLC. Henry also founded Northwest International Bank and served as its first board chairman. Among these distinctions, Henry is frequently invited to speak on business and immigration topics at organizations throughout the Northwest and abroad. He is quoted frequently and has written several articles on a variety of subjects. Additionally, he authored The Immigration Handbook, which has been published in the U.S., Spain, and the United Kingdom. Henry earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Washington in 1973 and received his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Puget Sound in 1980. His experience in immigration law, finance, and real estate is both extensive and eclectic and provides particular value to American Life, Inc. and its investors.
