Neil Schimmel
Mr. Schimmel has over 25 years experience in investment real estate specializing in the acquisition, management, redevelopment, and disposition of multi-family properties. In the last twenty five years, Mr. Schimmel has completed over 500 separate real estate transactions totaling $3 billion dollars, which includes over 30,000 units in 20 states. From 1986 until 1993, Mr. Schimmel was a partner at Capitol Properties, a multifamily real estate investment and brokerage firm. Mr. Schimmel began his career at Kenneth Leventhal where he received his CPA. While at Kenneth Leventhal, Mr. Schimmel was responsible for the restructure and work out of troubled real estate assets through out the U.S and Canada. Mr. Schimmel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from California State University, Northridge and holds a California Brokers Real Estate License.
Steven Shipp
Mr. Shipp’s 25 year business background spans most aspects of commercial real estate, from bulk note and hard asset sales to the finance, development, acquisition, restructure and disposition of literally hundreds of commercial real estate assets. He is responsible for procuring all financing, finalizing all JV agreements and loan documents, and ensuring all business plans are achievable and realistic. Mr. Shipp most recently served as the President & CEO of Daymark Realty Advisors where he restructured a complex balance sheet, managed one of the Nation’s largest Asset and Investment management firms and provided guidance on each of the assets within the 33 Million SF portfolio valued at approximately $5 Billion. He entered the world of asset management in 1991 with Bank of America, where he eventually served as a Regional Vice President, managing the bank’s Special Servicing operations, including the management, workout, restructuring and disposition of several billion $ in commercial real estate assets. In addition, Shipp participated in the development of Bank of America’s conduit/CMBS lending programs. Shipp has also served as (in chronological order) EVP for Grubb & Ellis Realty Investors, CEO for a Southern California investor/builder overseeing all aspects of operations, Senior Vice President for a regional commercial retail development group where he managed debt and equity structuring and as a special consultant to several of the largest commercial real estate loan servicers in the nation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
Karlin Conklin
Ms. Conklin has more than 15 years’ experience in multifamily real estate. She is the Principal and Managing Director at IMG NW, which provides comprehensive services to its multifamily clients. IMG NW services include acquisition & disposition consulting, property evaluations, equity repositioning, and portfolio analysis. Ms. Conklin served as SVP and Managing Director of Portland, OR-based Sperry Van Ness/Bluestone & Hockley, where she oversaw the office’s growth to a Top-10 national ranking out of 180 offices. She was also a top producing agent and was ranked in the Top-25 nationally out of 850 brokers. From 2002-2010, as Senior VP for Guardian Investment Real Estate, Ms. Conklin was responsible for sourcing, capitalizing and repositioning 5,800 value-add multifamily units, $234 million in equity from institutional partners, including GE Capital, Morgan Stanley and Broadreach Capital, along with Tenancy-In-Common and syndications with high-net-worth investors. Ms. Conklin holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, with an emphasis in Public Relations, and an MBA from the University of Oregon.
Daniel Byron
Daniel is responsible for managing the firm's asset management functions nationwide. Throughout his 15 year career in commercial real estate, he has overseen property and asset management operations on large national, regional, and local portfolios. Prior to joining IMG, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager with The Real Estate Group managing commercial and multifamily properties throughout Southern California as well as with The Bascom Group as a Portfolio Manager. Daniel received a B.B.A. degree in Finance from Loyola Marymount University and has obtained the CCIM and CPM professional designations.
