President

In June 2010, after leading companies for over 25 years, Randy Talbot left Symetra Financial and formed Talbot Financial LLC. , initially to invest family assets, and gradually to attract other families to the firm. Talbot served as President of Safeco Life beginning in 1998, and after profitably growing the company, learned in July of 2003 that Safeco planned to sell the major subsidiary. Talbot led the management team through a sales process, and ultimately helped raise over $1.3 billion of equity and debt, and in August of 2004, emerged as Symetra Financial, an independent life insurance company. After successfully navigating the financial crisis, and significantly growing both assets and earnings, he led the company through the first successful IPO in the new decade, and on January 21, 2010, rang the opening bell at the NYSE, celebrating the first day of trading as a public company. Randy now puts his energy and insight to work alongside his partners, including his son, Nathan, to build a company and a diversified asset base by investing from the perspective of a CEO.
