Before founding Alcova Capital Management, Russell was President of Spectrum Group Management, a direct lending and distressed debt asset manager. Previously at Gates Capital Management, he institutionalized the investment offering and directed business efforts to grow from $400mm to $3B. He led a similar growth effort from 2000-2008 at West Side Advisors, which grew from $40mm to $800mm and launched new funds under his direction. Russell began his career in 1991 at Prudential Securities, where he was an analyst and became a Vice President. Along the way he has been a General Partner in venture funds related to medical devices and renewable energy. Russell earned an MBA from Columbia University in 1998 and a BA from Cornell University in Government and Italian Literature 1991. He founded the BHAG Foundation in 1998 and in 2007 was awarded the Global Achievement Award from buildOn, for his work promoting education for underserved communities. Since 2013 he has been a trustee for the Children's Aid Society, where he chairs the investment committee which directs $350mm in assets. Russell lives in Westport, CT with his wife and two children and is a founder of the Sag Harbor Cycle Company.

Prior to Founding Alcova Capital Management, Matthew was a Managing Director at Spectrum Group Management, a direct lending and distressed debt asset manager. At Spectrum, he was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring and asset managing investments in real estate across property types such as multifamily, office, retail, and industrial as well as hospitality, gaming, senior housing, land development and homebuilding. Prior to joining Spectrum in 2005, Matthew spent 5 years at JPMorgan Securities in its Real Estate Investment Banking Group structuring and executing transactions for REIT, gaming, lodging and homebuilding clients. At JPMorgan, he worked on several M&A transactions and executed over $10 billion of financings, including bank debt, bonds, mortgage backed securities and equity. Matthew received a B.S. from Cornell University, 2000. He lives in Armonk, NY with his wife and two children and serves on the young leadership board of JOIN Israel, a non-profit which helps Israelis in need. For more than 10 years, Matthew has been an active angel investor in early-stage technology companies. Representative venture-backed Fintech investments include, Dataminr, AngelList, RealtyMogul.com, CompStak, REscour, Lenda, Bread and Artivest.

Prior to founding Alcova in 2016, Bill founded Clovis Capital Management in 2002, a bottom-up, fundamental, concentrated long-short equity manager which at its peak had $2.8B under management. He served as Chief Executive Officer with responsibility for all non-investment activities at the firm. From 1995-2002 Bill was a Principal and Executive Vice President at Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn (CRM) where he served on both the Operating and Strategic Planning Committees. At CRM, Bill managed the business development and client services group. Previously, he was Vice President of client services at Delaware Investment Advisers and an account manager with Aetna Capital Management. Bill earned a BA in Economics from Bucknell University, 1985. He is a Trustee and Board Member at The Evergreens Cemetery in Bushwick where he also serves on the Investment Committee. He also is a Board Member and serves on the Investment Committee at StreetSquash, an urban youth enrichment program in Harlem. Bill lives in Brooklyn with his wife and three children.

Prior to joining Alcova, Matthew was Chief Operating & Financial Officer for Hornig Capital Partners, a real estate development firm. In addition to overseeing finance and operations, Matthew's role encompassed project and property management. Prior to joining Hornig Capital Partners, Matthew was Chief Financial Officer at Gamma Real Estate, a boutique commercial real estate investment, lending and development firm. At Gamma, Matthew oversaw finance, operations and compliance matters. Matthew began his career as part of the real estate tax groups of Arthur Anderson and then Deloitte & Touche. Matthew's main clients comprised global institutional real estate private equity funds. Matthew left Deloitte as a Tax Manager to join the back-office of his main client, Apollo Real Estate Advisors in a fund accounting and financial analysis capacity, focusing on Apollo's initial international real estate fund. Two years later Matthew moved into a mid-office role at Apollo encompassing portfolio management, valuations, performance tracking and reporting, investor relations and fund raising, fund and deal structuring and asset management. Matthew then moved to Dune Real Estate Partners where he spent 6 years directly supporting their CFO. Among various responsibilities at Dune, Matthew concentrated on performance reporting and distribution modeling as well as financial analysis and accounting. Matthew graduated Magna Cum Laude from Baruch College Zicklin School of Business with a B.B.A. in accounting and resides in Great Neck, NY with his wife and four children.
