James is a lifetime resident of Kansas City, spending the past 36 years working in electronics maintenance and calibration for a US Government contractor currently managed by Honeywell Inc. James started AREI in 2011 as an investment to take advantage of the depressed housing market. The business has grown over the years to be a respected supplier of turnkey investment properties to foreign and domestic investors as well as large equity funds. James retired from Honeywell in 2013 and maintains an executive role at AREI along with managing his other business investments in Kansas City.

Carl Dean is a successful millennial investor with an emphasis in real estate and a strong construction background. Over the last two decades, Carl has filled multiple roles from swinging the hammer, to general contractor, directing property management, securing his broker’s license, and currently manages a 25 million dollar real estate investment portfolio. Carl is paving the way for turnkey rental standards while creating a unique brand for himself. Carl is currently a Sr. Partner and holds the position of Chief Operating Officer for American Real Estate Investments (AREI). Under his direction, AREI is growing exponentially and on pace be one of the largest turnkey rental providers in the US. Carl is featured on the cover of the February 2016 issue of Think Realty Magazine entitled “Quest to be the Best,” and contributes to market discussions on The Real Estate Guys Radio Show. His true passion lies in helping others reach their full potential with his no-nonsense and straightforward advice. Carl is also a strong supporter of animal rights and founded a nonprofit foundation to provide assistance for local animal shelters in his hometown of Macomb, Michigan. When not working, Carl spends his leisure time reading, writing, and staying physically active. Carl is a firm believer that knowledge is power but passion takes precedence over all.

John Larson comes from a high end real estate background in the suburbs of Oakland County MI. After building up a large client basis and surpassing his broker’s expectations, Mr. Larson soon found himself in an Acquisitions Manager position for a large national real estate firm.
