Josh Ellison joined BlackRidge in Fall 2011 after graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky with dual degrees in finance and economics. In addition to his focus on financial analysis and project management at BlackRidge, Josh is involved in many aspects of the organization.

William Barr

Bill Barr, age 67, has served as a Managing Partner of BlackRidge since its formation in April 2011. Prior to co-founding BlackRidge, he served as a Vice President of NGAS from 2004 until his appointment as an Executive Vice President in 2010 and as a Vice President of NGAS Production, Inc. (formerly Daugherty Petroleum, Inc.) from 1993 until being appointed its Chief Executive Officer in 2005. Bill has more than 40 years of experience in the corporate and legal sectors of the oil and gas industry. Before joining NGAS Production, he served in senior management positions in a major Illinois Basin independent exploration and production company and built a significant natural resource law practice. Bill currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and a Governing Member Trustee for the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation. He also currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Oil and Gas Association (“KOGA”), and as Chairman of its Legislative Committee, having previously served as President of KOGA. Bill has been a member of the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet’s Oil and Gas Work Group since its inception in 2014. The Work Group is comprised of multi-disciplined members, and is tasked with the on-going review and modification of Kentucky’s oil and gas regulatory scheme. Bill is also actively involved in community affairs, having served as Chair of LexArts, Lexington’s catalyst for creating a progressive and innovative community inspired by the arts, and as Chairman of the Saints Peter and Paul School Advisory Council. He received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.

William Daugherty

Bill Daugherty, age 63, has served as a Managing Partner of BlackRidge since its formation in April 2011. Prior to co-founding BlackRidge, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of NGAS Resources, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ NGAS) since 1993 and as Chairman of the Board since 1995. Bill also founded Daugherty Petroleum, Inc., the predecessor company to NGAS, in 1984 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer from 1984 through 2005 and as its Chairman of the Board until April 2011. He has been a member of the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet’s Oil and Gas Work Group since its inception in 2014. The Work Group is comprised of multi-disciplined members, and is tasked with the on-going review and modification of Kentucky’s oil and gas regulatory scheme. Bill has served as president of two Kentucky oil and gas trade organizations, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, and as the Vice Chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (“IOGCC”), a compact formed by Congress to represent all the producing oil and gas states in the united States, and remains the Governor of Kentucky’s representative to the IOGCC. He is a former member of the DOE’s Unconventional Resources Technology Advisory Committee, served on the Foundation Board of Eastern Kentucky University, located in Richmond, Kentucky, with an enrollment of 16,000 students, and also served on both the President’s Council and Board of Visitors of the Aircraft Owner’s and Pilot’s Association, a pilot’s association dedicated to general aviation with more than 400,000 members. Bill received a B.S. Degree in 1976 from Berea College, Berea, Kentucky.

Lewis Barnette

Lewis Barnette joined BlackRidge in Fall 2011 after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in geology. Lewis focuses on oil and gas exploration and prospect identification and is regularly involved in drilling and completing operations.
