Marc Brutten is founder and Chairman of Brixton Capital. Recognized as one of the most prolific real estate investors on the West Coast, Marc has acquired over 800 buildings, totaling 39 million square feet in transactions valued at over $4 billion USD since 1978. Marc has founded or been an initial investor in numerous private and public companies including Westcore Properties, Westcore Europe, Westtown Estates, First Industrial, TriNET, California Republic Bank, Randall Cosmetics, Ritz Camera, UMI Industries, New Jersey NETS, Airport Development Partners, and numerous other companies. Prior activities have included serving as a board member of the San Diego Community Foundation Real Estate Board and the University of California at San Diego alumni, where he was a University Trustee and a graduate. An avid Martial Arts practitioner, he holds black belts in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and was the 2012 World Masters Jiu Jitsu gold medalist.
As Chief Executive Officer, Travis is responsible for the overall strategy and operations of Brixton Capital including acquisitions, financing, asset management and investor relations. Travis has more than 20 years of real estate, private equity, investment and capital markets experience, having been instrumental in completing more than $3.8 billion of transactions across a variety of alternative investment platforms, including investment banking, private equity and real estate. Prior to becoming the CEO of Brixton, Travis was Chief Investment Officer at Westcore Properties, a real estate investment firm which owns and operates nearly $2 billion of office and industrial real estate, where he served as a member of both the Company’s Executive and Investment Committees. Travis also spent several years as a Managing Director with Silver Portal Capital, a boutique real estate investment bank, where he was involved in sourcing, marketing, structuring and closing more than $550 million of institutional equity joint ventures and direct equity investments. Previously, Travis was with Salomon Brothers, where he was involved in analyzing and executing financing and mergers and acquisitions across a wide-range of industries. Travis graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa and with highest distinction honors in Political Science and International Relations from the University of California at San Diego. He also earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He in an active participant and board member of the San Diego Chapter of Young President’s Organization (YPO).
As Principal, Corey Eagle is involved in all aspects of Brixton’s operations, accounting, finance and treasury, tax, debt, and equity functions. This involves closely working with all team members during all life cycle phases of assets including acquisition, structuring, and tax planning; hold, management, and value-add phase; as well as disposition. Prior to joining Brixton, Corey spent 10 years working at Ernst & Young, first in their audit and assurance group where he had a real estate focus that included helping the country’s largest regional outlet mall company through its initial public offering. Corey later became a manager and afterward, a senior manager in Ernst &Young’s dispute resolution and consulting group where he assisted many real estate clients as well as worked on numerous international matters in Latin America and Western Europe. Corey graduated with a degree in accounting from The George Washington University in Washington D.C. and acquired his certified professional accountant (CPA) license in 2001 and his Certified Fraud Examiner license in 2008. He has been a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Greater Washington Society of CPAs.
As CIO, Bob leads the Acquisition group at Brixton and is responsible for identifying, structuring and managing all real estate transactions at Brixton Capital. Prior to joining Brixton Capital, Bob was a founder of the Emri Group, a real estate investment company operating out of San Diego, California and Vancouver, British Columbia. Before forming the Emri Group, Bob was a principal partner at Professors Capital, a private real estate investment firm in San Diego, California. At Professors Capital, he was responsible for the acquisition, due diligence, financing, leasing, development, and disposition of over 100 separate real estate projects in the western United States. Bob holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of British Columbia.
