Brian is the Senior Managing Partner of Brookfield and global chief investment officer for Brookfield Property Group, based in New York. Brian joined Brookfield in 2001 and held senior management positions within the company and its affiliates, including mergers and acquisitions, merchant banking and real estate advisory services. From 2008 to 2012, Brian held leadership roles for Brookfield in Australia, where the company acquired and integrated property and infrastructure businesses. Brian holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queens University.
Sam is Senior Managing Partner and Head of Infrastructure Activities. Sam is responsible for the expansion of our infrastructure operating platform. Sam joined Brookfield's financial services operation in 1994 and has held various senior positions in the organization, including leadership of the company's financial advisory services and investment group. Sam is a Chartered Accountant and holds a business degree from Queen's University.
Ric is a Senior Managing Partner and global head of real estate at Brookfield, CEO of Brookfield Property Partners, chairman of Brookfield Office Properties, a member of the boards of directors of General Growth Properties and Rouse Properties and co-heads Brookfield's opportunistic real estate investing programs with Barry Blattman. He has over 30 years of real estate experience. Ric has been employed by the company and its predecessors since 1984 in various senior roles including President of Brookfield Office Properties’ U.S. Commercial Operations. Ric holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
David is the Managing Partner responsible for Brookfield’s real estate investments in North America and is a member of the board of directors of Fairfield Residential. He has 30 years of real estate experience. David has held several senior positions since joining the company in 1992 including President and CEO of Canadian Commercial Operations for Brookfield Office Properties, Chairman of Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls and President and CEO of Brookfield Real Estate Opportunity Funds I and II. In these roles he was responsible for the acquisition of over 9 million square feet of real estate assets and was heavily involved in both the General Growth Properties and Fairfield Residential transactions. David received his Honors degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and his Master of Science in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia.
Andrea Balkan is Managing Partner of Brookfield Real Estate Financial Partners, based in New York. She has held several senior management positions at Brookfield and is responsible for the overall management of the activities of Brookfield’s real estate finance funds. Andrea has over 24 years of experience in real estate finance and capital markets. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2002, Andrea was a Director at Merrill Lynch in New York in the Investment Banking and Debt Capital Markets groups (1998 to 2002), where she was responsible for conduit and large loan origination business, and before that, a Managing Director at Chase Manhattan Bank. Andrea holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and successfully completed Chemical Bank’s credit training program in 1987.
Brett is Managing Partner, Corporate Operations and is responsible for certain corporate operations, administrative and legal functions. Brett has held various legal and corporate roles in our affiliates since joining Brookfield in 2002. Prior to joining Brookfield, Brett was with the law firm of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP in New York. He holds a law degree from Fordham University School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Cornell University.
William (Bill) is a Senior Managing Partner of Brookfield and is CEO of Brookfield-Australia. Bill is also the manager of Brookfield’s global Financial Risk Management activities. Previously, Bill was a partner in Brookfield’s real estate mezzanine debt fund with Barry Blattman, Senior Managing Partner of Brookfield. Prior to joining Brookfield, Bill held various senior management positions within the real estate capital markets groups at several investment management firms. Bill received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Richmond in 1981 and his M.B.A. from the Darden School of the University of Virginia in 1990.
Barry is a Senior Managing Partner responsible for Brookfield’s private equity, credit and property investment strategies. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2002, Barry was a Managing Director with Merrill Lynch, responsible for various businesses including real estate equity and debt, structured finance and Latin American debt capital markets. Barry began his career in 1986 with Salomon Brothers. Barry received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and an MBA from New York University.
