Carr Properties is a privately held real estate investment trust focused on creating value for its shareholders through the ownership, acquisition and development of high-quality office properties in the greater Washington area. Carr Properties is actively seeking to acquire additional office investment properties in the Washington, DC area and favors properties in urban, transit-oriented locations. Our investment team is experienced with a variety of transaction structures including tax deferred acquisitions, entity purchases, corporate mergers and portfolio transactions.

Chief Executive Officer

Oliver Carr, III

Oliver T. Carr, III is our Chief Executive Officer and a member of Carr Properties’ Board of Directors. Prior to joining Carr Properties, Mr. Carr served as Chairman and CEO of Columbia Equity Trust (NYSE:COE), a publicly traded office REIT. Together with his management team, Mr. Carr formed Columbia Equity Trust and successfully took the company public through an initial public offering in 2005. Columbia Equity Trust was formed as the successor entity to Carr Capital Corporation, a privately held real estate investment company that Mr. Carr co-founded in 1994. During his career, Mr. Carr has completed over $2.0 billion of property acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and financings. Mr. Carr received his Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992 and his Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies, with a concentration in Economics, from Trinity College in 1987.

President

John Schissel is our President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Schissel has over 26 years of experience collectively in real estate operating platforms and the capital markets. Mr. Schissel rejoined Carr in November of 2015 and was previously our Chief Financial Officer from 2004 through 2009. In this capacity he played a lead role in our predecessor’s (Columbia Equity Trust) successful initial public offering in 2005, as well as, managing our strategic sale to JP Morgan Asset Management in 2007. Prior to rejoining Carr, Mr. Schissel previously served as EVP and CFO of Invitation Homes, the nation’s largest owner and operator of single-family rental homes and EVP and CFO of BRE Properties, a NYSE listed, West Coast apartment REIT. Mr. Schissel also served as a Director in Wachovia Securities Real Estate Investment Banking Group. Mr. Schissel received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Georgetown University.

Chief Operating Officer

Daniel Dooley

Daniel P. Dooley is our Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Dooley has been in the real estate industry since 1987 when he started his career at the Staubach Company, followed by positions with Trammell Crow, JMB/Heitman Properties, Jones Lang LaSalle, and Studley. Most recently, from 2001 until joining Carr Properties in May of 2014, Dan served as a Managing Director of Regional Leasing for Tishman Speyer in Washington, DC, overseeing leasing activities for Tishman Speyer’s 10 million square foot owned and third-party managed portfolio. Mr. Dooley serves on the boards of the District of Columbia Building Industry Association and Jubilee Housing. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Vice Chairman

Richard Greninger

Richard W. Greninger, CPM, is our Vice Chairman of Operations. Mr. Greninger has over 30 years of Washington, DC and national commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining Carr Properties, Mr. Greninger served as Managing Director of Operations for CarrAmerica Realty Corporation from 1990 to 2006. In 1985 he served as President of the Institute of Real Estate Management. In 1994 Mr. Greninger served as President of the Greater Washington Apartment and Office Building Association, as Chairman of The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International National Advisory Council from 2000-2002, and most recently as International Chairman of BOMA in 2013-14. Mr. Greninger received his Bachelor of Science degree, with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate, from Ohio State University in 1973, and received his Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati.
