Mr. White is responsible for pursuing and overseeing development and acquisition opportunities for Certus, as well as serving as the President of the management company. He handles many of the related financing activities for properties in the Certus portfolio. Mr. White participates closely in the day-to-day activities of Whitewood Construction, of which he is also a principal. Mr. White has over 13 years of experience in multi-family development, construction, and property management. He has worked diligently in a wide variety of industry roles, ranging from construction management, to regional property management, to overseeing a portfolio of over 4,000 units. He is a Certified Property Manager and a licensed real estate Broker in North Carolina. He is also a licensed General Contractor for Whitewood Construction. Mr. White currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association and has previously served on the board of the local chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mr. White has over 35 years of experience in the multi-housing industry. He currently maintains ownership in over 3,000 apartments in North and South Carolina. His current role with Certus is to lend his considerable managment and development expertise to asses project feasibility. Mr. White personally participates in each and every Certus deal, as well as guarantees each new development’s construction loan. Throughout his career, Mr. White has developed upwards of 6,000 multi-family units and has participated in the management of over 12,000 units. He has served as President of the Triad Apartment Association, as well as the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of North Carolina. Mr. White is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mr. Hopkins currently serves as Director of Operations for the management company. In addition, he offers a large breadth of development and construction knowledge which aids our firm in making investment decisions. Mr. Hopkins has been responsible for the succesful management of over 6,000 units over the past 20 years. Mr. Hopkins is a graduate of the State University of New York. He is a Certified Property Manager, Certified Apartment Property Supervisor, certified in Federal Housing Administration multi-family housing requirements, and a NC and SC licensed real estate Broker.

Mr. White currently serves as the firm’s Executive Vice President and Broker-In-Charge and has over 8 years of real estate experience. His previous role as a regional manager overseeing a portfolio of over 1,500 units has given him extensive knowledge of multi-family properties. His prior real estate management experience includes overseeing a portfolio of grocery anchored shopping centers. Mr. White manages the day to day operations for Certus including staffing, vendor relationships and budgetary control. Mr. White is also a principal and participating member of Whitewood Construction. Mr. White is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia and is an active member of the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association as well as the Apartment Association of North Carolina.
