A Montana native, Kelly’s small-town upbringing was a great background but a sharp contrast to the metropolitan and international destinations of his professional career. After graduating with honors from the University of San Diego with a degree in International Relations and Business, Kelly worked in the financial industry in Newport Beach, California, followed by a career course change towards real estate development in 1995 that took him to the Middle East and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he lived for 5 years working primarily on mixed use and resort development projects throughout the region. Kelly was subsequently recruited by a Pacific Northwest regional home builder to direct their expansion into Arizona. He was eventually promoted to COO of the company at which time he relocated to Kirkland Washington. In 2011, Kelly partnered with legendary Seattle home builder Herb Chaffey to form Chaffey Building Group to focus on residential real estate opportunities in Seattle and Seattle’s eastside communities. Kelly, along with his twin son and daughter, lives in Kirkland and loves calling the Pacific Northwest home. There are few sporting opportunities that Kelly will pass up as he is an avid golfer, skier, tennis and beach volleyball player, and any other competitive or athletic challenge he can find. Kelly is active in the community and has been active with a number of local non-profit organizations.

Edmunds has been overseeing the management and construction of new homes since 1984. Born and raised in northern California, Edmunds started his career in home building in Anchorage, Alaska where he started his own small construction company. He moved to Washington State in 1989, where he has resided since. Through his participation in every role from carpenter, superintendent, general superintendent, production manager, operations manager and currently vice president of construction, Edmunds has proven expertise in all aspects of home building and construction management. Other interests outside of construction include connecting with his Latvian heritage, volunteering and participating in many events within the Latvian Association of Washington State, working on cars, fishing, golfing, gardening and traveling.

A Northwest native and University of Washington graduate, Carina Hicks has been an integral part of the Chaffey tradition for over 30 years. Carina has participated in many facets of the homebuilding industry, short of putting on a tool belt on the job site. From entitlement and land purchases to banking and investor relations, her experience dealing with all types of people and situations brings a continuity and broad historical perspective to Chaffey Building Group. Her other interests outside of work include spending time with her family enjoying activities like snow and water skiing, time at the family cabin, Husky football games, cooking and gardening. A musician at heart, Carina sings in two choral programs, Kirkland Choral Society and Mirinesse Women’s Choir.

Jan grew up in California, but has lived in Washington since 1978 and considers himself a native. After graduating with a BS in Accounting from California State University Chico, he started his career as a CPA with Price Waterhouse Coopers in San Francisco and eventually Seattle. Jan’s 40+ years of financial accounting experience includes work in both private and public companies in multiple business sectors in addition to construction. He has been married to the same lovely woman for a really long time and has children and grandkids to prove it. His favorite outside activity is building homes with Habitat for Humanity and he claims to know more about construction than the typical CFO. He is a board member of private and non-profit organizations. For fun he enjoys travel and golf. Sadly, he isn’t nearly the golfer he thinks he is.
