Colony Realty Partners ("CRP") is a privately held real estate investment company that acquires and manages commercial real estate properties on behalf of many of the world's leading institutional investors, including pension funds, public corporations, endowments, sovereign wealth funds, and family trusts. CRP was founded in 2005 by Managing Principals Henry Brauer, Scott Freeman and Mark Harmeling in partnership with Colony Capital. The founding principals have more than eight decades of combined real estate experience. Together, they have successfully acquired and managed more than $7 billion of commercial real estate over the past 20 years.

Principal

Scott Freeman

Mr. Freeman, Principal, joined with Colony to establish Colony Realty Partners, LLC in 2005. He serves on both CRP's Board of Managers and Investment Committees. He is engaged in all facets of the company's operation, including marketing and investor reporting. Mr. Freeman oversees acquisitions on a national level and helps manage CRP's team of ten acquisition professionals. Over the past twelve years, Mr. Freeman sourced the acquisition of over 140 properties throughout the United States valued at more than $4.0 billion. Prior to the establishment of CRP, Mr. Freeman was the Director of Acquisitions at TA Associates Realty, where he served on the firm's Executive Committee, Investment Committee and chaired the Acquisition Committee. Mr. Freeman was with the firm from 1994 through 2004, and was a partner for eight years. He managed a team of eight acquisition professionals and their support staff. In addition, Mr. Freeman contributed to the management of nine separate accounts. Previously, Mr. Freeman was an Asset Manager with General Electric Investments, the investment management company for the General Electric Pension Fund, where he managed a diversified portfolio of real estate debt and equity investments. Formerly, he was an Asset Manager with Aetna Realty Investors where he specialized in office and retail properties. Mr. Freeman received a B.A. in Political Science from Bates College and an MBA with concentrations in Real Estate and Finance from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. Mr. Freeman serves as a trustee at both Noble and Greenough School, his high school alma mater, and Bates College.

Principal

Mr. Brauer, Principal, joined with Colony to establish Colony Realty Partners, LLC in 2005. He serves on both CRP's Board of Managers and Investment Committees. He is engaged in all facets of the company's operation, including marketing and investor reporting. Mr. Brauer oversees asset management at the company and manages a team of nine asset management professionals responsible for the management and leasing of nearly 130 assets totaling more than 30 million square feet of commercial space and over 1,900 units of multifamily product. Prior to the establishment of CRP, Mr. Brauer was the Director of Asset Management at TA Associates Realty, where he served on the firm's Executive, Acquisitions, Investment and Asset Management Committees. Mr. Brauer had the responsibility of managing a team of 10 asset managers including four regional directors. Mr. Brauer was also the portfolio manager for the firm's two largest separate accounts. Mr. Brauer was an asset manager at John Hancock Properties, where he managed a diversified portfolio of office, industrial, retail, and multifamily properties. Previously, he was a leasing broker and member of the development team at Spaulding & Slye, a national real estate and brokerage firm. Mr. Brauer received a B.A. in History from Tufts University and an M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Real Estate Development Program. Mr. Brauer serves as a Trustee at his high school alma mater the Taft School.

Mark Harmeling

Mr. Harmeling, Principal, joined with Colony to establish Colony Realty Partners, LLC in 2005. He serves on both CRP's Board of Managers and Investment Committees, he is engaged in all facets of the company's operation, including marketing and investor reporting. Mr. Harmeling oversees acquisitions on a national level and helps manage CRP's team of twelve acquisition professionals. Over the past twelve years, Mr. Harmeling sourced the acquisition of over 60 properties throughout the United States valued at over $2.5 billion. Prior to the establishment of CRP, Mr. Harmeling was with TA Associates Realty, where he served on each of the firm’s five governing committees: Executive, Acquisitions, Asset Management, Investment and Finance. Mr. Harmeling was also one of the three directors of the firm's funds III – VI. Mr. Harmeling worked for several real estate companies, the longest tenure of which was as President of Bay State Realty Advisors. In each of these positions, Mr. Harmeling specialized in the acquisition, disposition and asset management of commercial and multifamily properties throughout the United States. Previously, Mr. Harmeling served as President of a series of related real estate partnerships, where he directed all aspects of operations including acquisitions, development, dispositions, finance and management. Mr. Harmeling holds a Bachelor's Degree from Swarthmore College, where he is also a member of the school’s investment committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of Universal American Financial Corporation (UHCO: NASDAQ).
