The mission of CDT is to provide long-term capital to low and moderate income communities which helps ensure their affordability and enhances the quality of life for their residents. CDT provides this long-term capital in the form of loans and equity investments by working with local, regional and national partners in communities across the United States.At CDT, we work to facilitate the development and preservation of affordable multi-family housing. We provide long term financing which helps to stabilize communities and therefore contribute to ensuring that people have well-maintained, safe, affordable places to live. We work with partners who are experienced in acquiring, rehabilitating, and managing affordable housing communities. Our operating partners include many of the country’s leading specialists in preservation—multifamily developers, owners, and managers with a strong local presence—who invest alongside CDT.

Former Managing Director

Allan Baum

Allan J. Baum has been a member of the CDT Board since 1998. Mr. Baum has over 20 years experience in the investment banking business, retiring from Credit Suisse (CS) in 2002. At CS, he was a Managing Director and head of the structured finance unit for commercial mortgage-backed securities. Prior to his ten years with CS, Mr. Baum held positions in the real estate investment bank of Citibank, as well as in the tax-exempt housing finance and mortgage finance areas of Merrill Lynch. Mr. Baum currently serves as a director and previously served as Chairman of Gramercy Property Trust, a NYSE-listed real estate investment trust, where he is also a member of the compensation committee and chair of the corporate governance committee. He previously served as a director of the National Cooperative Bank, and as Vice President of the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association. Mr. Baum received a BA in Government/Urban Studies from Dartmouth College in 1978 and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in 1983. Mr. Baum’s current term on the CDT Board expires in 2018.

Andrew Ditton

Andrew Ditton is currently Managing Director and Head of CRA Strategy and Business Execution for Citi Community Capital. Prior to that, Mr. Ditton served as Co-Head of Citi Community Capital, Managing Member of Davis/Ditton LLC, a real estate development and syndication business focused on affordable housing and mixed-use urban projects, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). Mr. Ditton is currently a Director of the National Equity Fund and the Low Income Investment Fund (where he serves as Chairman). A graduate of Shimer College, Mr. Ditton received his Master’s degree in Urban Studies from Loyola University. Mr. Ditton is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia’s Graduate School of International and Public Affairs. Mr. Ditton’s employer is an investor in CDT. Mr. Ditton has been on the Company’s Board since 1998 and his present term expires in 2018.

Paul Grogan

Paul S. Grogan serves as President and CEO of the Boston Foundation. With assets of nearly $1 billion, the Boston Foundation distributed over $135 million to nonprofits in fiscal 2015. Mr. Grogan joined the Foundation from Harvard University where he was Vice President for Government, Community and Public Affairs. In 2001, Mr. Grogan co-founded “CEOs for Cities” a civic innovation lab and network of urban leaders and change agents from diverse sectors. Prior to 1998, he was President and CEO of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), where he raised and invested over $3 billion in inner cities across America. His passion for cities began in Boston working in the administrations of Mayors Kevin White and Raymond Flynn. He headed Boston’s neighborhood revitalization efforts in the 1980s, where he helped pioneer a series of public/private ventures that have been emulated nationally. Mr. Grogan graduated with honors from Williams College, earned a Master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and was awarded a Bicentennial Medal in 1997 from Williams College. He holds honorary degrees from The Boston Architectural College, The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology and Mount Ida College. He is a founder and director of The Community Development Trust, a director of New Profit Inc., a trustee of Brandeis University and a former trustee of Williams College and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. He is co-author with Tony Proscio of the book, Comeback Cities. Mr. Grogan has been on the Company’s Board since 1998 and his present term expires in 2018.

James Feild

James W. Feild is the Real Estate Development Executive for Bank of America Community Development Banking, where he is responsible for the operations of Banc of America Community Development Corporation (the “CDC”), a for-profit, public-purpose real estate development company that has developed or redeveloped more than 35,000 units of affordable and mixed-income housing. The CDC, through new construction and the redevelopment of existing buildings, produces between 1,000 and 1,200 affordable and mixed-income rental units per year. During his career, Mr. Feild has played a leading role in community development initiatives, structuring and closing over $4 billion of LIHTC investments, over $2 billion in debt community development originations, the first proprietary Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Fund, the National Community Investment Fund, and the Raza Development Fund. He also developed and implemented the bank’s CDFI initiative, investing more than $100 million and qualifying for more than $5 million in Bank Enterprise Awards (BEAs). Mr. Feild is the Chairman of the Board of the Raza Development Fund and Assistant Chair of the Urban Land Institute Affordable Workforce Housing Council. Mr. Feild graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington where he majored in business with a focus in real estate. Mr. Feild has been on the Company’s Board since 2005 and his present term expires in 2017.
