For over 40 years, Dennis has spearheaded the financing and real estate development activities of Coughlin & Company. Under his leadership, Coughlin has completed taxable and tax-exempt financings in 45 states in well over 1,000 separate transactions to fund the needs of municipalities, Catholic institutions, non-profit organizations, affordable housing developers, and private corporations. Dennis launched the firm’s efforts in real estate development in the early 1990s, which now includes a diverse portfolio of senior housing, commercial office buildings, multifamily housing, commercial parking, and single family communities. Dennis also manages the investment portfolios of private pension funds, charitable institutions, and individual investors. Dennis is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of California and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He has served on the Board of numerous charitable and civic organizations.
For more than 20 years, Mike has devoted himself to the firm’s real estate development, management and financing activities, which includes the development of market rate and affordable apartment communities, office buildings, commercial parking lots, residential lots, and historic structures with a combined development cost of over $125,000,000. Mike earned a BA from Stanford University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a Certificate in Filmmaking from New York University. His past work experience includes the Strategic Planning Division of Walt Disney Studios and the Corporate Financing Department at the First Boston Corporation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of several organizations, including AmFirst Bank and Historic Denver, Inc.
Since 1990, Walt has helped a nationwide network of non-profit and faith-based borrowers design, structure, and complete tax-exempt and taxable financings. These 100+ transactions which total more than $750,000,000 have financed schools, health care facilities, affordable housing communities, churches, and many other worthy projects. Walt graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Economics and from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he received an MBA. Walt then worked for 4 years in the Investment Banking Department at Salomon Brothers. Walt is the current or past Chairman of Mercy Housing Colorado (Colorado’s largest developer of low-income housing), Safe House Denver (Denver County’s only domestic violence shelter), and Donor Alliance (the organ and tissue bank for Colorado and Wyoming). Walt is also Chairman of his Parish Finance Council and is Vice Chairman for Families of Character and an Advisory Board Member for the Reilly Center at the University of Notre Dame.
