Leibel Lederman’s first exposure to the real estate industry came in 1973 as a managing agent for a boutique real estate firm in Greenpoint. Mr. Lederman soon learned the intricacies and risks of residential apartment investing. Between 1976 and 1985, Mr. Lederman and several partners purchased over 65 buildings in Brooklyn, Bronx, and Manhattan, totaling 4,000 units. From 1985 to 1989, Mr. Lederman purchased shopping centers and office complexes throughout Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Considered one of New York City’s most prolific middle-income multi-family property owners and highly regarded throughout the industry — with his aptitude for financial analysis and legal acumen — Mr. Lederman joined E&M in 1994. Mr. Lederman focuses on purchase analysis, internal transactions, and tracking the minutiae of each project undertaken by E&M. The considerable value Mr. Lederman brings to each purchase includes arranging financing or negotiating transaction terms. Since joining E&M, Mr. Lederman has significantly increased the size of E&M’s portfolio and substantially enriched its diversity of holdings. Before joining E&M Associates as its senior property analyst, Leibel Lederman already owned and managed a sizable portfolio of residential properties across New York City. He is still acknowledged as an early pioneer of the strong co-op market that characterized New York City real estate during the 1970s.
Irving Langer, president and founder of E&M Associates, learned the essentials of buying and selling residential multi-family properties as an employee at Public Realty in Brooklyn. At Public Realty, Mr. Langer quickly discovered his acumen for identifying and purchasing investment properties. After establishing E&M in 1971, Mr. Langer’s exceptional management abilities coupled with his consistent record of generating significant returns on his properties attracted the attention of several large financial institutions, establishment leaders of the New York real estate community, and city agency officials. Through these relationships, Mr. Langer’s opportunities for major growth in the real estate market continued to expand until he had accumulated a considerable portfolio of properties nationwide. Currently the portfolio spans over 10,000 units. Mr. Langer holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Long Island University, and a State certification in guidance counseling. Along with his significant success in the real estate industry, Mr. Langer has never forgotten his commitment to social advancement. Through his private foundation, The Irving Langer Charitable Trust, Mr. Langer devotes time and financial resources to numerous educational institutions and social service organizations. Mr. Langer currently chairs the executive board of several notable nonprofit organizations, including Ohel Family Services and Mesivta Tifferes Yisroel, and has received national recognition for his philanthropic activities.
Aryeh Z. Ginzberg has been in the real estate industry for more than 35 years. His organizational experience includes the management of large portfolios of multi family properties throughout the tri-state area. Mr. Ginzberg has overseen the management and complete rehabbing of several thousand HUD &HPD units that were completely restored to profit-producing portfolios. One such project, a 500 unit housing project in the South Bronx, was completely rebuilt with over $5 million dollars of city and federal funds and achieved the 2004 annual “Project of the Year” from C.P.C. Mr. Ginzber’s years of experience have allowed him to develop strong personal relationships with the leaders in the various governmental housing departments as well as with the heads of the banking and financial industry. Mr Ginzberg’s buisness goals have always been focused on the bottom line… to not only effectuate a financial profit, but to increase the quality of life of the tenants as well.
Meyer Brecher, the Director of Property Management Services for E&M Associates, joined the firm in 1992. Aside from owning a controlling interest in a luxury goods manufacturing outfit, Mr. Brecher had been an active participant in New York City’s active co-op conversion market throughout much of the 1980s. Mr. Brecher holds a Masters of Science in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from New York University. He is responsible for all building management operations, maintenance services, rehabilitation, construction and repairs for E&M Associates in New York, New Jersey, and Nassau County. Mr. Brecher also supervises E&M’s team of building managers and tradesmen (which include hundreds plumbers, electricians, painters, and general contractors) and oversees all major purchases of building material. By successfully negotiating volume prices, verifying the quality of materials, and holding effective inventory tracking systems in place, Mr. Brecher consistently maintains low cost-to-quantity ratios for all major and incremental building supply purchases. Mr. Brecher is instrumental to E&M’s success in rehabilitating distressed properties ahead of schedule and under budget. Most recently he leveraged these skills during the complete gutting and rebuilding of an E&M-owned building complex in Brooklyn and in the Bronx that is now leased to the New York City Department of Homeless Services.
