Michael Forman is Chairman & CEO of FS Investments and has been leading the company since founding it in 2007, when it was known as Franklin Square Capital Partners. Prior to co-founding FS Investments, Mr. Forman founded a private equity and real estate investment firm. He started his career as a corporate and securities lawyer. Mr. Forman is a member of a number of civic and charitable boards, including The Franklin Institute, Drexel University and the Philadelphia Center City District Foundation. He is also Chairman of Vetri Community Partnership. Mr. Forman received his BA from the University of Rhode Island where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He received his JD from Rutgers School of Law.

Mike Carter serves as Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy at FS Investments. He oversees firm strategy and business development, with a focus on growing FS Investments’ existing credit franchise and expanding into other alternative investment platforms. Mr. Carter brings more than 25 years of experience building credit and hedge fund platforms to the firm. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Magnetar Capital, where he had direct managerial responsibility for all global operations, strategic planning and business development. Prior to joining Magnetar, Mr. Carter spent 15 years at Lehman Brothers in various credit and investment banking roles, including leadership roles in the interest rate derivatives, securitization, structured credit and CDO businesses. He was co-head of Lehman’s Structured Credit Desk, co-head of its U.S. Structured Credit Sales group and a leader of the Hedge Fund Banking Group. He also helped launch the firm’s securitization business in London. Mr. Carter received a BS in Business with a minor in Politics from Wake Forest University.

Steve DeAngelis is Executive Vice President and Head of Distribution at FS Investments. Mr. DeAngelis serves on the firm’s Executive Committee and as President of FS Investment Solutions, FS Investments’ wholly owned broker-dealer subsidiary. Mr. DeAngelis brings over 25 years of experience in financial services, both as a sales leader and business builder. In his most recent role as Managing Director, Head of U.S. Advisor Solutions Group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, he led distribution of all products and services to registered investment advisors, regional and national wirehouses, and independent broker-dealers. He was also responsible for managing home office relationships, on both the distribution and platform research sides. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he co-founded and served as President of ADVISORport, Inc., the industry’s first web-based platform for delivering customized managed account services to broker-dealers, banks and third-party RIAs. He also held several senior positions at Delaware Capital Management after starting his career at Brinker Capital, Inc. Mr. DeAngelis earned a BS in Business Administration from Villanova University and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation.
