Ben is Co-Founder and CEO of Fundrise. Ben's responsibilities involve strategic partnerships, deal underwriting, real estate development, PR as well as setting the long-term strategy and goals for the company. Ben has 15 years of experience in real estate and finance, and he has acquired, developed, and financed more than $500 million of property in his time as Managing Partner of WestMill Capital Partners and President of Western Development Corporation. Ben also started US Nordic Ventures, a cross-Atlantic private equity and operating company. Ben has worked as an analyst for Lubert-Adler, a private equity real estate fund. Ben was part of the founding staff of Democracy Alliance, a progressive investment collaborative. Ben is also co-founder of Popularise, a real estate crowdsourcing website.
Daniel is Co-Founder and President of Fundrise. Dan's responsibilities include expanding the company’s presence in new markets outside of Washington, D.C. Daniel is also Co-Founder of Popularise, a real estate crowdsourcing website, and Managing Partner of WestMill Capital Partners, a Washington D.C. based real estate development company. He remains involved with Western Development Corporation, his family’s real estate organization which has developed more than 20 million square feet in its 46-year history. Daniel graduated from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania as a submatriculant with a dual B.S. and M.B.A. He has FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 registrations.
Tom is the Vice President of Real Estate and Institutional Sales for Fundrise. Tom focuses on sourcing new transactions, developing institutional relationships, and helps advise on securities related matters. Tom is based out of San Francisco and leads all company efforts in California. Prior to joining Fundrise, Tom was a partner at the California investment bank Stone & Youngberg and then a managing director at Stifel Nicolaus after a sale of Stone & Youngberg to Stifel in 2011. Over his 29 year career Tom has structured more than 500 municipal bond issuances representing more than $6 billion in financings. Tom is the board treasurer of the Center for Investigative Reporting and is a member of the board of the North Beach Salesian Boys' & Girls' Club. Tom received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Katlin is the Vice President of Real Estate, Pacific Northwest for Fundrise. Katlin mainly works with real estate developers in Seattle and Portland, and is expanding Fundrise on the West Coast. Prior to joining Fundrise, Katlin worked at a real estate investment and advisory firm, Heartland, where she launched a niche business line focusing on pairing local investors with community-oriented real estate developers. Katlin also previously worked with a small entrepreneurial residential real estate development company in Seattle. In her free time, Katlin enjoys outdoor adventures with her dog Stella and working on her social enterprise non-profit, Haiti Babi.
