Founder, Managing Partner

John Winther

John founded Harvest Properties in 2002. Currently, he provides leadership for all operations and strategic initiatives for Harvest, and actively directs its investment and development decisions. Before founding Harvest, John was a senior vice president at Spieker Properties, responsible for an eight million square foot portfolio as well regional investment and development activities. John also helped launch the IPO for Spieker Properties. He has nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience, from sourcing and structuring through managing and leasing to disposal. John holds a Bachelor's degree with honors from Brown University, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, where he lectures in the graduate business program. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Thomas Wagner

Tom is one of Harvest Properties original founders—with us since the beginning in 2002. He is responsible for sourcing development and acquisition opportunities and, like other Harvest Partners, Tom provides leadership for a vital portion of the assets under our guidance. Previously, Tom oversaw asset management and the development of three million square feet of San Francisco Bay Area industrial, R&D and office space for Equity Office Properties. With more than 20 years of experience, Tom, has worked in retail development, commercial brokerage and corporate real estate management. From the initial sourcing and structuring through the eventual disposal, Tom lends a seasoned point of view. Tom holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Joss Hanna

Joss has been a valuable member of the Harvest Properties team since its founding in 2002. He is responsible for sourcing new acquisitions and guiding the performance of over two million square feet of office property in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Peninsula markets. Previously, Joss was a project manager for Equity Office Properties, responsible for the management and planned disposition of three million square feet of industrial and R&D properties. He has over 10 years of commercial real estate experience, including sourcing and structuring, managing and leasing, and asset disposition. Joss holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado and a Master's degree from California Polytechnic State University.

Awais Mughal

Awais joined Harvest Properties in 2003. He is responsible for sourcing new acquisitions, and guiding the performance of the assets under his direct control and leadership. Previously, Awais was a senior asset manager for ZKS Real Estate Partners, responsible for the management and planned disposition of 1.3 million square feet of office and R&D properties. Awais also held several positions with Carr America Realty Corporation. Awais has deep experience in commercial real estate sourcing, structuring, managing, leasing and disposal—over 20 years of know-how that makes him an essential component of our success. Awais holds a Bachelor's degree from Williams College and is a board member of the San Francisco chapter of NAIOP.

Sarah Irving

Sarah joined the Harvest Properties team in 2004. Sarah oversees the Finance/Accounting team and Harvest's Corporate Operations. In the past, Sarah assisted in the acquisition, integration, and asset management of Harvest's commercial properties portfolio. Before joining Harvest, Sarah was a property manager for The John Buck Company in Chicago, where she oversaw the opening of UBS Tower, a 1.3 million square foot Class A high-rise office building, and assisted in the management of numerous other CBD assets. Sarah has over 14 years of commercial real estate experience including leasing, construction management, asset management, and financial analysis. Sarah holds a Bachelor's degree from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania.

Griff King

Griff joined the Harvest Properties team in 2006 and is responsible for the acquisition, integration, and asset management of new commercial properties. Griff's background includes experience as an investment associate at Stanford Management Company, where he and two directors managed more than $2.5 billion of real estate and natural resource investments for the $12 billion Stanford University endowment. Griff also spent more than three years at Robertson Stephens as a senior associate in investment banking and institutional sales. Griff holds a Bachelor's degree from Princeton University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
