Co-Founder & Managing Principal

Jeffrey Katz

Jeff has more than fifteen years of professional real estate experience, including property acquisitions, dispositions, finance and asset management. Prior to co-founding Highgate Capital Group, Jeff was a co-founder and Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions at Trilogy Real Estate Group, a national multifamily private equity firm. Prior to Trilogy, Jeff was a Senior Vice President at DTZ Rockwood with responsibilities that included the disposition and advisory of more than $2.5 billion worth of real estate assets, including more than $300 million of multifamily properties. He began his career in the acquisition group at LaSalle Investment Management. Jeff received a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate-Finance from Indiana University in 1999.

Co-Founder & Managing Principal

John Kinzelberg

John has over twenty years of professional experience in real estate and private equity, with eleven years in all facets of the multifamily business, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, finance and asset management. Before co-founding Highgate Capital Group, John was a Vice President in the acquisition and asset management groups at Waterton Associates, a national multifamily investment advisor for some of the largest pension funds, endowments and Wall Street banks in the country. Prior to Waterton, John was a Senior Manager at Mesirow Stein Real Estate, one of the largest and most established residential and commercial developers in Chicago. John received a master’s in Business Administration from Columbia University in 2001 and a bachelor’s in Economics, with Distinction, from Cornell University, in 1994. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of SGA Youth & Family Services, a nonprofit organization that supports the emotional and social development of Chicago’s most at-risk youth and their families.

Craig Tuber

Craig has close to four decades of experience as a real estate entrepreneur, principal and advisor. He is the Founder and Managing Principal of Northfield Partners, a real estate brokerage, advisory and investment firm that has structured acquisitions of more than 30 properties with a total value in excess of $500 million. Throughout his career Craig has had ownership interests in multifamily, office, retail, and hospitality properties. In 2003, Craig was a special advisor to the CEO and the Executive Vice President of Real Estate at Charles Schwab, the financial services firm based in San Francisco, CA with more than $200 billion in assets under management and among the nation’s largest asset management companies.
