Founded by Chairman and CEO Jim Lippman in 1991, JRK Property Holdings is a Los Angeles-based real estate investment firm specializing in the ownership, management, leasing and redevelopment of properties in primary and secondary markets throughout the United States. Chief Financial Officer

Jay Schulman

Jay Schulman was a founding member of JRK in 1991 and now serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure at JRK, Jay has overseen and directed the accounting, treasury and financial operations of the company. He also spearheaded the design and implementation of JRK’s accounting and reporting system that manages the company’s multifamily properties. Prior to joining JRK, Jay served as the Director of Asset Management at Executive Life Insurance Company, as well as a real estate associate with The Shidler Group. Jay earned a B.S. in Accounting from Boston University and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also a certified public accountant.

Jim Lippman

Jim Lippman is the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at JRK Property Holdings. Combining his knack for analytics, passion for creativity and instinctual real estate propensity, Jim founded JRK in 1991 on the simple premise: to acquire underperforming or undervalued apartment buildings, actively manage them to maximize cash flow, and opportunistically refinance or sell to local and regional operators. Over the past three decades, JRK has built upon this strategy to become a national leader in the real estate investment sector. The company, which now owns and operates over $6 Billion in real estate, has been recognized by both the National Multi-Housing Council and Multifamily Executive Magazine as one of the largest multifamily owners and managers in the United States. In addition to JRK’s presence in the multifamily sector, JRK Hotel Group is a leader in the hospitality market as well, with a portfolio of luxury boutiques and flag hotels in Manhattan, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Portland and Nashville. Prior to founding JRK, Jim was a commodities futures and equity options arbitrageur. He held positions at several Wall Street firms, including Oppenheimer Company, where he traded equities for the firm’s proprietary investment account and Drexel Burnham Lambert, where he arbitraged equity options for the firm’s proprietary investment account. He went on to found Brothers Trading, a commodities trading firm with membership in both COMEX and the New York Mercantile Exchange. Jim is an active philanthropist with a history of supporting education and healthcare. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of Los Angeles and is the Chair of the hospital’s audit committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Century Communities, Inc. Jim earned a B.A in Economics and Political Science from Union College, where he remains an active member of the Board of Trustees.

President and Chief Operating Officer

Robert Lee

Bobby Lee is the President and COO of JRK Property Holdings and a member of the company’s Investment Committee. Since joining JRK’s team in 2005, Bobby has been involved in the acquisition of over $4 Billion in multifamily, hotel, and commercial properties. He is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the entire JRK group of companies including the multifamily, hotel, and investment companies. Additionally, Bobby played an instrumental role in raising over $2 Billion of equity capital for JRK’s fully discretionary private equity funds and individual transactions. Prior to joining JRK, Bobby was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers where he covered the leveraged buyout and industrial sectors and was involved in raising over $1 billion from both the public and private equity markets. Bobby earned a B.A. in Economics from Pomona College where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees. He also serves on the Sheraton Advisory Board for Marriott International, the Facilities and Fundraising Committees of Loyola High School of Los Angeles, and the Board of Directors of Brentwood Presbyterian Church Preschool. He and his wife Sophia reside in Brentwood with their two sons.

Chief Investment Officer and President - Investments

Alex Lowe

Alex Lowe serves as Chief Investment Officer of JRK Property Holdings and President of JRK Investors. He oversees all activities of JRK’s investment division including acquisitions, dispositions, and investor reporting. He is a member of JRK’s investment committee and also oversees the asset management of JRK’s office portfolio. Since joining JRK, Alex has closed on over $2.5 billion in commercial real estate transactions. Prior to joining JRK, Alex worked as a Development Manager at Westfield Corporation and as a real estate acquisition Analyst at BlackRock, Inc. Alex received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions

James Bloomingdale

In his capacity as a Senior Vice President of JRK Investors, James Bloomingdale is responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and financing all new acquisitions and managing the disposition process of owned assets. James started at JRK Property Holdings in 2005 as an Assistant Project Manager, helping with the renovation of Oceana Beach Club Hotel in Santa Monica, California. Since then, James has held positions in development, fund management and acquisitions, and most recently as Senior Vice President for JRK Investors. James graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in History in 2005.
