M7 Real Estate

M7 is a specialist investor and asset manager of multi-let real estate. The M7 team is split into four divisions: Real Estate, Investment Management, Finance and Information Management. The Real Estate team is responsible for sourcing M7's investments and establishing the asset management strategy for them once acquired. The team is led by five partners who between them have over 90 years of industrial real estate experience.

Director

Charles Alcock

Charles Alcock is a Director at M7 Real Estate and is Head of Central European Transactions. He is responsible for acquisitions across CEE. He previously led the asset management of the VBRi portfolios, a bad debt work out for Nationwide Bank. Prior to co-founding M7 in 2009, Charles was a Partner of GPT where he was a Director in the New Business Team. He also headed up transactions and worked on the Halverton Babcock Industrial (HBI) €810m, flagship, multi-let light industrial fund, undertaking transactions in France, the Netherlands and Denmark. During 2007, Charles assisted with the setting up of the €230m specific, light industrial Benelux Industrial Partnership fund, undertaking transactions in the Netherlands and Germany. In addition, he worked on the development of GPT Halverton's platform in the Scandinavian and Nordic regions of Sweden and Finland, and researched potential new areas of business. Formerly a Divisional Director of international investment at Teesland IOG (now Valad), he assisted with the acquisition for the Industrial Partnership I (£120m) and the Second Industrial Partnership (£180m) funds in the UK, as well as being responsible for investing €300m into the French and Dutch multi-let light industrial markets on behalf of the European Industrial Partnership. Charles is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Charles has a BA Hons in Modern History from Newcastle University.

Mark Campbell

Prior to joining M7 in April 2015, Mark was a Property and Investment Analyst at Goodman UK Limited, a commercial property owner, developer and fund manager. Mark has seven years of real estate experience. Mark joined Goodman in October 2011 and was involved in the Asset and Fund management teams providing portfolio, fund and valuation analysis, undertaking financial modelling for divestments, acquisitions and developments and all Group and Investor reporting. Prior to working at Goodman Mark worked as an Asset Manager at The Portman Estate working across sectors in the West End involved in Asset Management and the development and refurbishment programs for the Estate. Mark also worked for Goodman NZ Limited in Auckland, New Zealand in the Asset Management team responsible for a portfolio of commercial, industrial and retail assets valued in excess of $250 million. At M7, Mark is focused on European Asset Management in particular the pan-European Tamar European Industrial Fund (“TEIF”) which has investments in France, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Scandinavia.

James Chasen

Before joining M7 in June 2013 James was a Development Executive at Elliot Charles Group, an independent property company based in Buckinghamshire. Whilst at Elliot Charles, James was responsible for the asset management of a variety of assets including industrial estates, office parks and luxury residential developments situated across the UK. James also completed strategic disposals and acquisitions for different funds. Previously James worked for Lambert Smith Hampton as an Industrial agent within the Industrial & Logistics division. At Lambert Smith Hampton James acted for a diverse client base including institutional investors, property companies, developers, occupiers and private individuals. In addition James also assisted the Lease Advisory division in completing rent reviews and lease renewals for various national retailers. James has over 10 years real estate experience and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. At M7, James is responsible for the asset management of assets within the UK portfolios which include Marble and PACL. Prior to this James worked mainly on Central Europe acquisitions, developing an asset pipeline and providing strategic advice on territories including Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

Matthew Cheyne

Matthew Cheyne is a Director and Head of UK Real Estate for M7 Real Estate Ltd. He is responsible for overseeing all acquisition and asset management activities within the UK. Since co-founding M7 in 2009, this has meant involvement with assets totalling approximately £650m. Prior to co-founding M7 Real Estate, Matthew was Head of UK Investments at GPT Halverton. Earlier roles included the Chairmanship of WXV, an Edinburgh based property Asset Management Company, the asset management of Teeside iOG’s (now Valad) Scottish portfolio and, as an equity partner, running Gooch & Wagstaff’s (now Colliers International) Scottish operation. Matthew has over 30 years of real estate experience. Matthew has a Bachelor of Land Economy from University of Aberdeen. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and of the Investment Property Forum. Earlier roles included the asset management of Teesland iOG’s (now Valad) Scottish portfolio and, as an equity partner, running Gooch & Wagstaff’s (now Colliers International) Scottish operation. Matthew specialises in the acquisition and asset management of property with income and capital enhancement opportunities, working in joint venture and partnership with investors. Matthew has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 1985 and is a member of the Investment Property Forum.
