Robert Lawless

In his role as Chief Financial Officer and as a member of the senior executive team, Robert Lawless is responsible for accounting, tax, regulatory compliance and risk management oversight, while also focusing on capital raising, investor relations, and strategic planning. Robert has over 20 years of experience performing various financial and operational roles within public and private sector domestic and international real estate companies. He has negotiated, structured, and executed over $5 billion of capital markets transactions. Robert earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Accounting from Sacred Heart University and St. Leo’s University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).

A co-founder of NexCore Group, Bob Gross is responsible for asset and property management operations, project finance, risk management, insurance compliance, and human resources. He supervises the closing and administration of all project construction loans, mezzanine debt and equity, permanent loan financing, and property acquisitions, as well as reporting and accounting for property and asset management. Bob develops and maintains company relationships with local and national lending institutions. With over 24 years of real estate experience in various operational, management, finance, and development capacities, Bob is well positioned to lead NexCore’s real estate management and business operations and functions. He has overseen the asset and property management of over $3 billion of real estate assets. He has also been involved in structuring and closing over $2 billion of real estate disposition, $800 million of acquisitions, and more than $2 billion of various types of real estate financing for healthcare and commercial projects. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting from Minnesota State University and holds a Certified Public Accountant License and Colorado Real Estate Broker License. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and North Dakota Society of CPAs, and is active in Habitat for Humanity and other charitable organizations.

Peter Kloepfer

A co-founder of NexCore Group, Peter Kloepfer is pivotal to the company’s strategic planning. His leadership drives the structure of NexCore’s development and acquisition projects, the evaluation and negotiation of capital and debt sources, and major project delivery. In the second half of 2010, NexCore Group acquired a public corporation (CapTerra Financial Group, Inc.) and through this transaction created a public corporate parent that will provide ongoing capital for NexCore’s expanded operations. Peter is the Chief Investment Officer, as well as a controlling board member, of the newly acquired company, which now operates under the name of NexCore Healthcare Capital Corp. Peter brings 24 years of real estate development financing and structuring experience to NexCore. He has been responsible for over $2 billion of real estate transactions and has invested in more than $450 million of projects. Peter received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado and a Master of Law, specializing in taxation, (LL.M.) from the University of Denver. He also has the Colorado CPA certification, and his ongoing industry involvement includes the American Bar Association, American Society of CPAs, Colorado Bar Association, and Colorado Association of CPAs.

Greg Venn co-founded NexCore Group in 2004 to grow a national platform for the development, ownership, and management of healthcare real estate. In late 2003, Greg structured, managed, and closed an acquisition/disposition transaction in excess of $110 million that kicked off the creation of NexCore Group. Under his leadership, NexCore has grown into a 40-person company that has been recognized as one of the top healthcare real estate developers by Modern Healthcare magazine since 2005. Under various joint ventures and ownership structures, NexCore and its principals have developed and acquired nearly 2.7 million square feet of healthcare facilities, including nearly 400,000 square feet of projects currently under development across the country. In the second half of 2010, NexCore Group acquired a public corporation (CapTerra Financial Group, Inc.) and through this transaction created a public corporate parent that will provide ongoing capital for NexCore’s expanded operations. Greg is the CEO and Director, as well as a controlling board member, of the newly acquired company, which now operates under the name of NexCore Healthcare Capital Corp. Greg is responsible for the vision, growth, and profitability of NexCore. On a daily basis, he directs the company’s strategies, identifies new business opportunities, and assists the company’s managing directors with structuring financial solutions tailored to each individual project. Greg also oversees real estate development, property acquisitions, investments, capital markets and finance, leasing, sales, and marketing. With over 20 years of experience in real estate development, Greg is highly qualified to achieve NexCore’s vision. He has developed and/or managed projects ranging in size from 30,000 to 300,000 square feet and from $10 million to $100 million. Greg brings a diverse sensibility to NexCore that has been shaped by a wide range of experiences, beyond the formal company-building of the last six years. His background includes architecture and planning, finance, real estate brokerage, business administration, and construction management. Greg’s credentials include a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from the College of Architecture & Planning at the University of Colorado Boulder, MBA studies with a Real Estate Finance & Construction Management emphasis from the University of Denver, and Colorado Real Estate Broker License. He is also a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties as well as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Healthcare Real Estate Insights.
