Paravest Capital, LLC is a privately-owned real estate investment company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Paravest was founded by Rockwell Hopkins and David Heath, with Gerald Ford as its Principal financial partner. Acting in the best interest of our investor partners, Paravest seeks to provide opportunities to co-invest with experienced real estate operators in a diversified portfolio of property types located throughout the United States. Our emphasis is on assets acquired at an attractive cost basis (below historical replacement cost) that have the ability to generate cash flow and enhanced residual value through active asset management, value-add capital improvements, lease-up, and improved management efficiencies. On a select basis, Paravest pursues joint venture investments with experienced real estate developers of new construction designed for institutional buyers (build-to-core opportunities).

Mr. Heath is a Co-Managing Principal of Paravest Capital, LLC. Heath is responsible for the strategic vision of the company, investment sourcing, and investor capital raising. Heath is an investment committee member. Mr. Heath has in excess of 25 years of real estate capital structure, finance, acquisition and asset management experience. Prior to co-founding Paravest, Heath was a partner and instrumental in the growth of a private equity real estate investment company based in Dallas, Texas (Phoenix Capital Partners). During Mr. Heath’s 15-year tenure there, he served as its Chief Financial Officer, responsible for coordinating the closing of all new investments, partnership negotiations, underwriting of new investments, and was a member of its investment committee. Prior to joining Phoenix Capital Partners, Mr. Heath began his real estate career in the commercial appraisal profession. During his nine-year tenure in appraisal, he performed appraisal and consulting work on a broad range of property types. Mr. Heath graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate. Mr. Heath has held the MAI designation, a State of Texas appraisal license, and currently holds a State of Texas real estate license.
Mr. Hopkins serves as Co-Managing Principal of Paravest Capital, LLC. Hopkins is responsible for the strategic vision of the company, investor client relationships, investment strategies and sourcing. He is an investment committee member with over 30 years of experience in real estate. Before co-founding Paravest, Mr. Hopkins spent 10 years as Chief Executive Officer of White Rock Commercial where he was responsible for directing all operations including real estate acquisitions and development, project planning and design, financing, construction and marketing. He was also directly responsible for the company's capital market relationships. Prior to White Rock Commercial, Mr. Hopkins spent seven years as Chief Financial Officer of INVESCO Real Estate where he was responsible for administering INVESCO's global expansion strategy. Prior to INVESCO, Hopkins spent 14 years with various divisions of the Trammell Crow organization. His experience with them included working with Trammell Crow Company, Crow Holdings, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, and Trammell Crow Residential. Mr. Hopkins graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance.
Mr. Gerald J. Ford is one of the nation’s most accomplished financial services executives. He has acquired, managed, and sold banking businesses and other financial services companies for 40 years. After growing Golden State Bancorp to be the third largest thrift in the United States, Mr. Ford, as its Chairman and CEO, sold the company to Citigroup in November 2002 for approximately $6 billion in stock. Currently, Mr. Ford is Chairman of the Board and largest shareholder in Hilltop Holdings Inc., whose principal holdings include Plains Capital Bank (sixth largest bank in Texas), Hilltop Securities (the largest full service broker-dealer in the southwest United States), PrimeLending (a nationwide mortgage originator) and National Lloyds Corporation (a property and casualty insurance company). In recent years Mr. Ford has executed similar investment strategies as Managing Member and principal investor in Ford Financial Fund II, L.P., a $750 million dollar private equity fund that invests in financial institutions. Mr. Ford is also the principal shareholder of First Acceptance Corporation and the non-executive Chairman of the Board of Freeport-McMoRan, Inc. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Southern Methodist University and is on the Executive Board of Dedman School of Law at S.M.U. Additionally, he serves as trustee of Southwestern Medical Foundation and Children’s Medical Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Overseers of Weill Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Cornell University. Mr. Ford holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from S.M.U.
