Karen Alschuler

Karen Alschuler has spent over 35 years tackling some of the most interesting and urgent urban issues. She is known for projects that define the new generation of urban waterfronts, set design parameters for transformation of large urban districts, and provide for expanded cultural and educational facilities. Karen has embraced urban stewardship and the creation of civic places that welcome a diverse population, sought a critical balance between physical planning and fiscally responsible economic development and applied techniques to achieve true urban engagement. Karen has been active in the Urban Land Institute for more than 30 years serving on multiple committees, authoring articles and participating in project panels and onsite review teams. She is also a fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners and has been elected president of Commercial Real Estate Women in Boston, New York and San Francisco. Karen is passionate about creating spaces that enable communities to live better at higher densities with a particular focus on the common ground of cities, its civic web of public places, and streets and edges at the waterfront.

As a Principal at Perkins+Will, Tim brings over 30 years experience in the design and management of healthcare and institutional projects. He provides day-to-day leadership on project delivery, supported by his comprehensive understanding of planning, design and project management. Tim has extensive knowledge in the management of OSHPD projects, having participated in a variety of project types ranging in scale from small to large across California, and the region.

Managing Director of our San Francisco office, Greg Johnson has over 20 years of experience working with a wide variety of medium- and large-scale institutional and corporate clients. Recognized for his skills as a project leader, and his ability to think strategically in the highly complex real estate development environment, Greg brings a passion for sustainable design that enhances the quality of the urban experience. His unique background, as both the lead for the design architect and the director for the project sponsor, enables him to approach his projects from a holistic perspective.
