Mr. Rosen has helped create one of the most active firms in New York City real estate and has been integral in growing the company’s substantial and diverse property portfolio. Mr. Rosen continues to be actively involved in all aspects of RFR’s operations, ranging from leasing and management to acquisitions, dispositions and re-financings. Before founding RFR in 1991, Mr. Rosen was an Investment Advisor with Jones Lang Wootton. Mr. Rosen is a dedicated philanthropist who is involved with the Whitney Museum Corporate Council, Israel Bonds, UJA Federation, Jeffrey Modell Foundation, Real Estate Council of Carnegie Hall, Grand Central Partnership and Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City. Mr. Rosen has recently been appointed by the Governor of New York as the Chair of the New York State Council on the Arts.
Mr. Fuchs oversees transactions and operations for office, hotel, retail and residential real estate. Mr. Fuchs has helped build RFR’s portfolio with assets in select markets throughout the United States and Europe and has developed deep relationships within the real estate industry and international capital markets. Mr. Fuchs continues to be very active in RFR’s daily operations and concentrates on developing new business opportunities for the company. Prior to founding RFR, Mr. Fuchs earned an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. Mr. Fuchs contributes his time and resources to several charitable causes and has long standing relationships with the Jeffrey Modell Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and Israel Bonds.
Mr. Astarita manages RFR’s global business financial planning and analysis. He is responsible for corporate, investment and property finance, accounting and reporting. Mr. Astarita was formerly CFO at Citi Property Investors and J.P. Morgan Fleming. He also held various real estate controllership and financial positions with The O’Connor Group, The Peregrine White Company and Winthrop Management.
Mr. Brown is actively involved in all aspects of RFR’s real estate activities. Mr. Brown’s primary responsibilities include structuring and negotiating real estate acquisitions, dispositions and financings. Prior to joining RFR, Mr. Brown was an investment analyst with Insignia/ESG, primarily involved in the underwriting of real estate transactions for third party institutional and private owners. Mr. Brown has extensive knowledge of the construction industry through his prior employment at Lehr Construction.
Mr. Popkin oversees leasing, management, accounting, construction and hotel operations for RFR’s entire portfolio. Mr. Popkin was previously managing director with Beacon Capital Partners and managing director with CB Richard Ellis. He’s currently an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Real Estate Development program at the Graduate School of Architecture and Planning.
Mr. Weiss directs RFR’s global acquisitions, including debt and equity investments and capital sourcing. He was previously with JE Robert Companies, where he was Managing Director and President of JER Investors Trust (“JRT”), a NYSE publicly traded mortgage REIT focused on investments in commercial real estate finance structured products. Mr. Weiss also served as managing director for Goldman Sachs in both the investment banking and fixed income divisions, responsible for commercial and residential mortgage origination and securitization.
