Aaron Hancock

Mr. Hancock is chiefly responsible for the acquisition and disposition of existing multifamily properties throughout the company’s California markets. Mr. Hancock oversees the financing of acquisition and portfolio assets, directs asset management and renovation efforts and maintains lender relationships, all while ensuring the company’s financial strategy matches its investment strategy. Mr. Hancock joined Raintree after working on the acquisition of more than 25 properties in California and the Pacific Northwest for Pacific Property Company. He also served as acquisitions manager for BRE Properties and as a lending officer for Wells Fargo Bank’s Real Estate Group. Mr. Hancock holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and economics from Bowdoin College and is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and the Urban Land Institute.

Jason Check

Mr. Check oversees Raintree Partners’ land acquisition, development and construction activity, which includes more than $500 million in multifamily projects throughout Northern and Southern California. As managing director of development, Mr. Check plays a key role in establishing and maintaining Raintree’s construction and development processes. Prior to joining Raintree in 2008, Mr. Check served as senior development and acquisitions manager at The Picerne Group, where he oversaw the company’s multifamily acquisition and development efforts. Prior to that, he worked as project engineer for Langan Engineering, specializing in residential high-rise and mixed-use projects in Manhattan and Queens. Mr. Check holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering as well as Master of Science in civil and environmental engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a member of Urban Land Institute, where he serves on the Small-Scale Development Product Council (SSDC). He is also a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and is LEED certified.

Jeffrey Allen

The founder and CEO of Raintree Partners, Mr. Allen established the firm in 2007 as the successor to J.B. Allen Realty, Inc., a real estate development company he previously founded. Mr. Allen directs the company’s investment of $400 million in institutional equity into multifamily properties through value-add acquisitions and ground-up development. Mr. Allen has more than 40 years of experience in real estate investment, development, and management. Prior to founding Raintree Partners and J.B. Allen Realty, Mr. Allen managed multifamily investments at SSR Realty Advisors, which later became BlackRock Realty. He also served as CEO of the company’s Metric Property Management subsidiary, where his team managed $2.3 billion of institutional capital invested in a portfolio of more than 20,000 apartment units across the nation. Earlier in his career, Mr. Allen served as partner with Maguire & Partners in Los Angeles, a full-service real estate ownership and development firm. Previously, he served as a senior executive with affiliates of Security Capital Group, where he lead a team that developed, acquired and managed more than 22,000 apartment units and 12,000 extended-stay hotel rooms. Prior to that, Mr. Allen co-founded and was managing partner of the western region of Paragon Group, a leading national developer and manager of office, industrial, multifamily properties. He also cofounded Carlan Homes, a single-family homebuilding affiliate of Paragon Group, and served as the company’s Vice Chairman. Earlier in his career, Mr. Allen held development management positions with Cabot, Cabot & Forbes and The Koll Company. Mr. Allen holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a California-licensed real estate broker, a member of Urban Land Institute, ULI Multifamily Product Council (MFC), Cornell University Real Estate Council, Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics and the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC).

Lee Pacheco

Mr. Pacheco leads Raintree’s operations in accounting, treasury, financial reporting and analysis, tax and capital planning, risk management, human resources and information technology. Prior to joining Raintree, Mr. Pacheco served as senior vice president at Shea Properties, where he was responsible for strategic and business planning, including finance, accounting, information technology, human resources and investor relations. Earlier in his career, Mr. Pacheco served as regional controller and financial manager at Trammell Crow Company, responsible for finance, accounting, forecasting, treasury, information technology, construction contract review, litigation support and employee education. He also led the Quality Customer Reporting program for operations in California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Mr. Pacheco holds a Bachelor of Science in real estate finance and business economics from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
