Rockpoint Group

Rockpoint Group, L.L.C. ("Rockpoint") is a real estate private equity firm and Registered Investment Adviser with its headquarters in Boston and with additional primary offices in Dallas and San Francisco. Rockpoint is led by Founding Managing Members Bill Walton and Keith Gelb, who have been working and investing together for more than 20 years. Mr. Walton and Mr. Gelb were also Managing Members of Westbrook Real Estate Partners, L.L.C., a similar real estate investment company co-founded by Mr. Walton in 1994. Rockpoint's additional Managing Members, who have been working together for more than 15 years, include Pat Fox, Tom Gilbane and Aric Shalev. Since its inception in 2003, Rockpoint has sponsored seven commingled funds and four co-investment vehicles, raising more than $9 billion in capital commitments and investing or committing to invest approximately $7 billion of equity in over 200 transactions with total peak capitalization of approximately $28 billion. Including their time at Westbrook, the Rockpoint Managing Members have been involved in eleven commingled funds and seven co-investment vehicles, raising approximately $14 billion in capital commitments and investing or committing to invest approximately $11 billion of equity in over 345 transactions with a total peak capitalization of approximately $44 billion. Rockpoint employs a fundamental value approach to investing and focuses on select product types and geographic regions, with an emphasis on opportunities in major coastal markets in the United States, and with a particular focus on value creation and complex situations.

Founding Managing Member

Keith Gelb

Keith Gelb is a Founding Managing Member of Rockpoint and is responsible for the overall operations and management of Rockpoint, as well as overseeing the origination, structuring and asset management of all of Rockpoint’s investment activities. Mr. Gelb is based in Rockpoint’s Boston office. In addition to his responsibilities at Rockpoint, Mr. Gelb continues to be a Managing Member of Westbrook Real Estate Partners, L.L.C. (“WREP”). Prior to joining WREP in 1994, Mr. Gelb spent two years at Morgan Stanley in the investment banking department focusing on the identification and execution of financing and merger and acquisition assignments. Mr. Gelb is actively involved with several educational institutions and other non-profit organizations. Mr. Gelb received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992.

TK Inbody currently focuses on Rockpoint’s western U.S. investment and asset management activities. Mr. Inbody joined Rockpoint in July 2004 and is based in Rockpoint’s San Francisco office. Prior to joining Rockpoint, Mr. Inbody worked at Credit Suisse First Boston and previously worked as an associate at ABS Capital Partners, a late stage private equity fund. Mr. Inbody also has over two years of investment banking experience in the mergers and acquisitions group at Robertson Stephens & Co. Mr. Inbody received a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University in 1999.

Hank Midgley

Hank Midgley currently focuses on Rockpoint’s capital raising, new business development and investor relations activities. Mr. Midgley joined Rockpoint in March 2010 and is based in Rockpoint’s Boston office. Prior to joining Rockpoint, Mr. Midgley was a Managing Director at Beacon Capital Partners, where he was responsible for global capital raising and investor relations. Prior to his tenure at Beacon, Mr. Midgley was a Senior Director at Tishman Speyer, where he had responsibilities in both the equity capital markets and asset management groups. Mr. Midgley graduated from Dartmouth College in 1991 and received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 2003.

William Walton

Bill Walton is a Founding Managing Member of Rockpoint and is responsible for the overall operations and management of Rockpoint, as well as overseeing the origination, structuring and asset management of all of Rockpoint’s investment activities. Mr. Walton maintains offices in Jacksonville and Boston. In addition to his responsibilities at Rockpoint, Mr. Walton is a co-founder and Managing Member of Westbrook Real Estate Partners, L.L.C. (“WREP”). Prior to co-founding WREP in 1994, Mr. Walton was a Managing Director in the real estate group of Morgan Stanley, which he joined in 1979. Mr. Walton is involved with several real estate industry organizations and has served as a Director or Trustee on the Boards of several public companies, as well as private and non-profit organizations, including Princeton University and Princeton University Investment Company. Mr. Walton received an A.B. in Economics from Princeton University in 1974 and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1979.

Thomas Gilbane

Tom Gilbane currently focuses on all of Rockpoint’s eastern U.S. investment and asset management activities. Mr. Gilbane joined Westbrook Real Estate Partners, L.L.C. (“WREP”) in August 1999 and is based in Rockpoint’s Boston office. Prior to joining Rockpoint, Mr. Gilbane was involved in WREP’s eastern U.S. and European investment and asset management activities. Prior to joining WREP, Mr. Gilbane worked for two years in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Gilbane received a B.S. in Engineering from Brown University in 1997.

Aric Shalev currently focuses on all of Rockpoint’s western U.S. investment and asset management activities. Mr. Shalev joined Westbrook Real Estate Partners, L.L.C. (“WREP”) in September 1997 and is based in Rockpoint’s San Francisco office. Prior to joining Rockpoint, Mr. Shalev was involved in WREP’s western U.S. investment and asset management activities. Prior to joining WREP, Mr. Shalev worked for two years as a financial analyst in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring Department at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Shalev received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1995.

Pat Fox is a Founding Managing Member of Rockpoint. In June 2014, Mr. Fox announced a gradual transition of his duties and responsibilities. Mr. Fox will serve as Of Counsel through December 2018 but will not be involved in the management of funds subsequent to Rockpoint Fund IV. Mr. Fox is based in Rockpoint’s Dallas office. In addition to his responsibilities at Rockpoint, Mr. Fox continues to be a Managing Member of WREP. Prior to joining WREP in 1996, Mr. Fox was a partner at the law firm of Jones Day where he spent 13 years practicing in the area of commercial real estate. Mr. Fox received a B.S. from Texas A&M University in 1980 and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1983.

Paislet Booney

Paisley Boney currently focuses on Rockpoint’s eastern U.S. investment and asset management activities. Mr. Boney joined Rockpoint in July 2004 and is based in Rockpoint’s Boston office. Ron Hoyl

Ron Hoyl is the General Counsel for Rockpoint, focusing on legal, risk management and compliance matters for the company. Mr. Hoyl is based in Rockpoint’s Dallas office. Prior to joining Rockpoint, Mr. Hoyl was General Counsel for The Milestone Group for two years. Prior to joining The Milestone Group, Mr. Hoyl spent seven years as Associate General Counsel for Olympus Real Estate Partners. Mr. Hoyl began his career at the law firm of Liddell, Sapp and Zivley, now known as Locke Lord Edwards LLP. Mr. Hoyl spent almost 10 years at Liddell, Sapp and Zivley during which time he became a partner in the real estate section. Mr. Hoyl received a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1985 and a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1988.
