Richard Fiola

Richard Fiola’s focus is the identification and marketing of distressed assets in the Greater Los Angeles area and throughout Southern California. Richard Fiola has had years of experience as owner and operator of the business founded by his father. In the last ten years, he opted to work in the real estate industry, as he was already a seasoned real estate investment property owner. In the brokerage arena, he has worked with industrial and commercial property owners in the marketing of their buildings in the Greater Los Angeles area. Before the founding of Valley Commercial, Inc., Richard was associated with DAUM Commercial, He leased, sold and exchanged numerous industrial properties representing businesses (buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants) in the East San Gabriel Valley. He brings a wealth of insight into the distressed asset discipline because of the diversity of his business and real estate experience. An astute professional and skillful negotiator, he works tirelessly to achieve the satisfaction of all parties in a transaction.

Roger Fiola’s focus is to use his 40+ years of multi-disciplinary real estate experience to identity, acquire and manage assets accretive to the company’s investment goals. Mr. Fiola has been a licensed real estate practitioner since the early 1970’s with professional experience in the areas of acquisition, ownership, rehabilitation, construction and management of multi-family investments in California, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and New York. Previous to joining SperryFiola, Mr. Fiola co-founded a private equity investment company in southern California, which acquired over 7,000 apartment units classified as value-add assets in six regional markets around the United States, totaling over $600 million at the time of acquisition. Mr. Fiola moved to the Northern California Coast in 2008. As a veteran of almost all disciplines of the real estate industry for four decades, Mr. Fiola acquired over $300 million in value-added apartment and commercial assets before the founding of his investment company. His professional experience includes positions as a commercial real estate broker, appraiser, acquisition officer and investment property owner. He served as regional manager for the Hanes Company, a southern California multi-family brokerage company, senior appraiser and MAI candidate for Fidelity Federal Bank in Los Angeles, vice president of acquisitions of Granite Investment Group, Irvine, California, and acquisitions officer for BRE Properties, Inc., San Francisco. A native of California, Mr. Fiola graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance as well as completing numerous additional professional courses over the years. Roger Fiola lives on the Monterey Peninsula.

Damian Lynch

Damian Lynch brings more than more than ten years of international business development and marketing experience to his professional role at SperryFiola. He personally closed more than $2 billion in sales during that period. Mr. Lynch assists Roger Fiola in managing the company’s acquisition efforts: researching, identifying and underwriting multifamily asset opportunities with an emphasis in California’s Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest, both key regions in which SperryFiola is focusing . His thorough knowledge of the Bay Area markets, and personal, boots-on-the-ground presence in the Pacific Northwest, provides the knowledge and operations base essential to anchor SperryFiola’s near-term acquisition program in the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Lynch’s experience also includes web development, web-based business integration and social networking co-ordination. Mr. Lynch, a long-time resident of California’s Bay Area, is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and currently resides in Corvallis, Oregon.

Rand Sperry

As a member of the Advisory Board, Mr. Sperry will have periodic reviews and oversight of the company’s strategic direction and operations. Mr. Sperry co-founded Sperry Van Ness Commercial Real Estate Advisors in 1987. This company is a multi-national commercial real estate brokerage corporation – ranked by The Lipsey Company as the 10th most recognizable name in the U.S. real estate industry (“The 2011 Top 25 Commercial Real Estate Brands Survey”). In addition to his corporate duties, he personally had oversight of nine offices comprising over two hundred professional commercial brokers throughout Southern California and Arizona. Along with his corporate officers and staff, Mr. Sperry co-founded Sperry Van Ness International, the entity from which he was able to franchise Sperry Van Ness Commercial Real Estate Advisors to thirty-two states, one hundred sixty locations and one thousand advisors (associated brokers and agents). This enterprise was able to generate $12 billion in sales per year during the peak of the previous economic cycle. In addition to the brokerage and franchise entities, Mr. Sperry co-founded SVN Equities, LLC – a private commercial real estate investment company which has acquired and maintains a portfolio of over sixty properties throughout the United States. As an adjunct to SVN Equities, Mr. Sperry co-founded SVN Management, Inc. This entity is a successful fee management company providing full services to more than seventy-five commercial properties and totaling over nine million feet.

Dale Fiola

Dale M. Fiola was born and raised in Downey, California and attended schools there. He graduated from U.C.L.A and attended law school graduating near the top of his class. In 1978, he opened his law offices and has been in private practice since that time, practicing initially in general practice, but now specializes in employment and labor law. As his family has been real estate professionals, salesmen, brokers and investors, it was not uncommon for Dale to venture into real estate transactional law and commercial paper. He is currently an active member of the California State Bar and the California Employment Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice law before all California State Courts and the United States District Court, Central and Southern Districts of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has argued numerous cases before the Ninth Circuit and has at least two published decisions from that court. He has argued before the California Supreme Court and several of his cases have been noted in newspaper articles and news coverage.
