The principals of Stonetown have deep real estate private equity experience both domestically and abroad and are in the process of building a top tier investment group. Since its inception, Stonetown has purchased in excess of 5,400 units in 44 manufactured home communities and 2 apartment complexes in Colorado, Illinois, Oklahoma, New Mexico, North Dakota and Texas. Cairn Communities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Stonetown, manages the majority of Stonetown's assets.

Roy Lapidus founded Stonetown in August 2010 as a new vehicle to invest in opportunistic, high-yielding real estate investments. Prior to Stonetown, Roy spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs in the Real Estate Principal Investment Area of its Merchant Bank, most recently as a Managing Director responsible for acquisitions in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. Beginning in the RTC era, Roy has invested in distressed notes and assets, cash flowing assets, value add strategies and development transactions. He is experienced in all parts of the real estate capital structure, having invested in common equity, mezzanine and preferred equity. He is similarly experienced in many property types, including manufactured housing, hospitality, multi-family, office, industrial, retail, land, residential and medical office properties. Roy earned an AB in American History from Princeton and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Adam joined Stonetown in May 2011. Prior to Stonetown, Adam spent over six years at Amstar, a Denver based real estate private equity firm where he was a Managing Director overseeing the firm’s hospitality and Latin American investments, including sourcing, structuring, financing and asset management of those assets. Prior to Amstar, Adam worked in the Real Estate Principal Investment Area at Goldman Sachs where he was an Associate in the London office working on acquisitions, joint ventures and financings of real estate and non-performing note portfolios across Western Europe. Prior to Goldman, Adam was an investment banking analyst at PaineWebber working on mergers, acquisitions, equity offerings and debt raises for REIT clients as well as real estate principal investments on behalf of the firm. Adam has a BA in Economics from Middlebury College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Matt is responsible for the asset management of the Texas and Oklahoma portfolios and assists with infrastructure projects throughout the company. Matt joined Stonetown in July 2013 after 15 years at American Residential Communities (ARC), one of the country’s largest owners of manufactured housing communities. Initially at ARC, Matt performed due diligence for all acquisitions, then acted as an asset manager for properties in several markets and finally Matt was Vice President of Asset Management responsible for all capital projects, including home procurement, as well as utilities. Matt earned his BS in Civil Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
Dax joined Stonetown in May 2011 and assists the team with acquisitions, asset management, home purchasing and various special projects. He is responsible for the asset management of Stonetown’s Illinois and Colorado regions. Dax began his career at CBRE in Phoenix, Arizona where he was an Associate Director of the Financial Consulting Group before spending two years in the Private Client Group as an investment broker. Dax earned his BS in Finance from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder.
