Kyle Smith

He spends much of his time generating new business opportunities in both the student housing and commercial sectors, and is responsible for establishing Tailwind’s investment partners. Kyle’s ability to strengthen and develop positive community relationships is an invaluable quality and his unique perspective and insight provides the company with a solid direction from which it can deliver a first class product while achieving sustainable results. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Minnesota State University, Kyle has not only been active in real estate development, but his business experience also includes aviation, health & fitness franchising and the food service industry. This entrepreneurial prowess and diversity is an essential element in the Tailwind Group’s success and provides the organization with a proven and trusted leader.

Reggie Reed

Reggie began his real estate career by purchasing several investment properties located throughout southern Minnesota. This management experience encouraged him to develop efficient and effective operating guidelines to maximize productivity and increase profits. As Director of Operations, Reggie handles the personnel development of the 25+ team members within the organization and is tasked with establishing and executing day-to-day policy that ensures quality customer service and a well-organized facilities management system. Following graduation from Minnesota State University, where he earned a B.S. in both Aviation Management and Economics, Reggie worked for a US airline ensuring flight operations exceeded safety standards and achieved performance objectives. The experience gained in a crew environment has taught him the importance of team building and has been an essential element in the success of the Tailwind organization.

Michael Sather

A graduate of St. Cloud State University, Michael’s educational background in Finance, Insurance and Real Estate provides the Tailwind Group with the unique skill set required to manage a financial portfolio with an asset total in excess of $150 million. Prior to devoting his full attention to real estate, he was employed as the VP of Commercial Lending for a reputable Minneapolis based institution, where he was in charge of providing credit analysis and new business development. As Director of Finance, Michael is responsible for financial oversight of all existing projects and locations; specifically in the areas of asset valuation, budget development and implementation, financial reporting and monetary analysis. He is also in charge of financial forecasting, exploring capital markets and securing acquisition financing for all new development, ensuring long-term project viability.

Landon Smith

Beginning his career as a college intern, Landon has been actively involved with several real estate organizations, developing the necessary skills and experience to become a valuable asset. Despite the challenges of balancing academics with a hectic work environment, he produced results that earned him a solid reputation as a passionate and respected marketer, leading him to join the Tailwind Group on a full-time basis after receiving a B.S. in Economics from Minnesota State University. Landon’s tenure with the company has been highlighted by an increase in market branding and growing relationships with student housing consumers. He takes a dynamic and hands-on approach to advertising and delivers fresh and innovative concepts that reach the target audiences. Landon is a licensed Minnesota Real Estate Broker and is responsible for leasing the 2,300+ residential bedrooms located throughout the upper Midwest.
