Co-Founder and Managing Director

DOUGLAS EISNER

Mr. Eisner is Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Calida Group and is responsible for finance, legal, corporate operations. Prior to forming The Calida Group in 2007, Mr. Eisner was the Las Vegas City Partner for Alliance Residential Company, which he joined in 2003. With Alliance he was responsible for all aspects of the division’s operations from sourcing and entitling development opportunities to overseeing construction and property management of the firm’s projects in Las Vegas. Prior to joining Alliance, Mr. Eisner was with Lend Lease Real Estate Investments in their Capital Transactions department where he was focused on the acquisition of multifamily and commercial investments through direct investments and joint ventures throughout the western United States. Mr. Eisner graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and a Bachelors of Applied Science in Systems Engineering. He is a member of Young Presidents Organization. Additionally, he is a founding board member of Housing on Merit, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit focused on transitional housing for injured veterans.

Co-Founder and Managing Director

ERIC COHEN

Mr. Cohen is Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Calida Group where he is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities, entitlements, design, and project operations. He has over 13 years of real estate experience specializing in multiple types of multifamily products including affordable housing, garden-style, mid-rise, and high-rise. Before forming The Calida Group in 2007, Mr. Cohen opened the Las Vegas office for Trammell Crow Residential to oversee development. Prior to TCR, Mr. Cohen spent over 7 years in South Florida with The Altman Companies and JPI. While with TCR, Altman and JPI, Mr. Cohen was responsible for the successful development and entitlement of more than 7,900 multifamily residential units valued at $1,500,000,000. Mr. Cohen holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Florida and Florida Atlantic University. He is a member of Young Presidents Organization.

Vice President of Construction

THOMAS HART

Mr. Hart joined Calida in 2012 as Vice President of Construction, bringing with him over 35 years of development and construction experience. Prior to joining Calida, Mr. Hart was with Investment Equity Development in Las Vegas and was responsible for the development of approximately 1,500,000 SF of office projects over his five year tenure with that firm. His responsibilities included project budgeting, entitlement, and construction. Prior to Investment Equity, Mr. Hart spent 10 years with Thomas & Mack Development in Las Vegas. During that time, Mr. Hart was responsible for entitlement, budgeting, and construction of approximately 2,000,000 SF of commercial and industrial space, as well as the budgeting, and contractor selection for retail and hotel elements in various projects and construction of infrastructure over 150 acres of business campuses. Prior to Thomas & Mack, Mr. Hart was responsible for the development, construction, and maintenance of 2,500,000 square feet of medical properties (FHP, an HMO formally known as Family Health Practice); the remodel of approximately 12,000 residential apartment units and facilities across 27 states, (R & B Enterprises, aka Oakwood); and the development of approximately 1,000 units of apartments, townhomes, and single family homes in Southern California (The Irvine Company). Mr. Hart is a the former President and current Board Member of Los Vaqueros, a 501(c)3 organization which provides the means to feed, clothe, and mentor at-risk elementary age children in the Las Vegas Valley. Mr. Hart has been married for 45 years to his wife, Nancy. Together they have two children and two grandchildren.

Controller

Lauri Sampson

Lauri Sampson is the Controller for The Calida Group and its affiliated companies, including Calida Residential, Calida Construction, and Calida Holdings. She has over 20 years of accounting and financial experience in the Real Estate industry including development, construction and property management. Prior to joining The Calida Group, Ms. Sampson worked with Turnberry Associates in their Residential division in Las Vegas focusing on project forecasts and financials and managing the cost accounting on their high-rise hotel/condo projects. Prior to Turnberry, Ms. Sampson assisted in opening the residential division in Las Vegas for The Related Companies where she was responsible for the accounting on the pre-development of a $400 million and $3 billion High-Rise project. Prior to moving to Las Vegas she spent several years in Raleigh, North Carolina as the Controller for Real Estate Developers that constructed and managed several luxury apartment complexes. Ms. Sampson received her Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting at Wayne State College in Nebraska. She has been active in various community organizations as an officer, mentor and volunteer.
