Los Angeles-based Thorofare Capital, Inc. (“Thorofare”) is a middle market loan origination and servicing company. The firm focuses on financing transactions with a value of $3,000,000 to $30,000,000, targeting value-add and opportunistic acquisitions, recapitalizations, and distressed debt secured by transitional properties. Our affiliate, Thorofare LLC, is an SEC Registered Investment Adviser focused on alternative fixed income opportunities through US commercial real estate debt investments. We are currently deploying capital through our fourth high-yield private real estate fund, which has a target deployment capitalization of $300,000,000.

Kevin, a founding member of Thorofare Capital, leads origination and oversees all aspects of the Partnership. Under his leadership, the Partnership’s predecessor funds successfully originated and serviced over $800 million of loans. He offers experience in several capacities required for successful real estate investment banking, including the performance of market and financial feasibility analysis and working with borrowers, appraisers and title insurers to streamline the funding process. Kevin is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and the Men’s Guild of the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Additionally, he sits on the Board of Directors for the University of Southern California’s Marshall Partners. Kevin graduated from the University of Southern California’s School of Letters Arts & Sciences’ Economics Program and is a frequent guest lecturer at USC.

Mr. Miller is a Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Thorofare Capital. As CIO, Mr. Miller sits on the Investment Committee of Thorofare Capital and is primarily responsible for capital formation, firm strategy, credit and asset management activities as well as review and approval of all underwriting and due diligence processes implemented by the firms deal origination team. In 2000, Mr. Miller began his career in commercial real estate with Cushman Realty Corporation’s market research department in Downtown Los Angeles. In 2002, Mr. Miller joined Cushman & Wakefield’s (“C&W”) valuation department as an associate appraiser where he spent the next four years appraising all asset classes of commercial real estate nationwide. Thereafter, Mr. Miller joined one of C&W’s top brokerage teams, representing multi-national corporations in their lease and sale transactions worldwide. Prominent firms and institutions represented included The Walt Disney Company, Paul Hastings, City National Bank, O’Melveny & Myers LLP, The NFL and Pepperdine University. In 2008, Mr. Miller relocated to Hong Kong to manage Disney’s corporate real estate portfolio in Asia Pacific, including over 50 offices in 11 countries. Mr. Miller earned his degree in Communication & Business Administration from the University of Arizona. Mr. Miller is a licensed Broker with the California Bureau of Real Estate.

Marc Rapaport

Mr. Rapaport is a Partner at Thorofare Capital. Mr. Rapaport is a private investor with a wide range of operational experience. Mr. Rapaport began his investment banking career at Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1983, after practicing law in Los Angeles. There he served in a variety of positions including Executive Vice President and Co-Director of Domestic Capital Markets. In 1990, Rapaport co-founded the Capital Division of Jefferies and Company, Inc., where he served as Executive Vice President. He was also a director of the Board of Directors of Jefferies and Company, Inc. and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee until 1994. From 1995 until 1998, Mr. Rapaport was Chairman of the Los Angeles Galaxy and lead investor of L.A. Soccer Partners, LP, the operating group of the Galaxy. Mr. Rapaport was one of the founders of Major League Soccer, LLC. Mr. Rapaport has been the lead investor and Chairman of the Board of Doctor Evidence, LLC, a specialty software platform and services company operating in the healthcare space, since 2007. Mr. Rapaport is Vice Chairman of the Board of Cedars-Sinai Hospital and serves on the Executive Committee. He has at various times been the Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the Executive Personnel, Finance, Investment, Pension and GTRI Liaison Committees. He has been active in the hospital’s Sports Spectacular since its inception in 1986 and a member of the Board of Governors for more than 20 years. Mr. Rapaport is a member of the Advisory Board and the Finance Committee of Our House, a grief support center. He has served on public company boards including the Board of Directors of Fred Meyer, Inc. a large western supermarket chain. Mr. Rapaport received his juris doctorate degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1981 and a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1978. He is married to Sheri Jane Huttner of Denver, Colorado. They have four children: Will, Ali, Robyn and Danny.

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Herbert is the Chief Operating Officer and a Principal of Thorofare Capital and is directly responsible for overseeing the accounting, banking, treasury management, financial reporting, fund administration, loan servicing, and human resource divisions of Thorofare. Mr. Herbert was the first employee of Thorofare and has been with the firm since its inception in 2010. Before joining Thorofare, Mr. Herbert worked at Douglas Emmett, Inc. (NYSE: DEI) in Santa Monica, CA as a part of the treasury department. He was responsible for daily cash management, which included managing a $350MM credit facility with Bank of America. Mr. Herbert also played an integral role in the implementation of new accounting and property management software systems and worked with auditors from Ernst & Young to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Prior to Douglas Emmett, Mr. Herbert worked at Stanislawski & Harrison, CPA’s in Pasadena, CA, as a part of the tax and audit teams. Mr. Herbert is a Los Angeles native, having graduated from Loyola High School, and attended the University of Southern California, where he graduated from the Leventhal School of Accounting with a Bachelor of Science, emphasizing in accounting information systems.
