TruAmerica Multifamily is a partnership that was founded in July 2013 between industry veteran Robert E. Hart and The Guardian life Insurance Company of America. The company is based on the premise that tremendous upside potential remains in mid-tier apartment communities that can be unlocked through tailored renovation, repositioning strategies, and focused management. TruAmerica Multifamily is a privately held, fully integrated, real estate investment firm that invests in apartment communities located in premier markets in the Western United States. We continue to grow by selectively acquiring, redeveloping and effectively managing multifamily properties.

President and CEO

Robert Hart

Robert E. Hart founded TruAmerica Multifamily in July 2013 and currently serves as its CEO and President. Prior to forming TruAmerica Multifamily, Mr. Hart served as CEO and President of Kennedy Wilson Multifamily Management Group where he managed a portfolio of nearly 12,000 units and oversaw transaction volume over $4.5 billion. Prior to joining Kennedy Wilson, Mr. Hart served as Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management at Heitman Capital Management, where he was involved in the repositioning and disposition of $500 million in real estate assets, and Director of Real Estate Marketing at Executive Life Insurance Company, where he spearheaded the orderly liquidation of a $1 billion portfolio of real estate and various securities. Mr. Hart served from 2006 to 2013 as Chairman of the Board at Chrysalis, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and helping the homeless and impoverished in Los Angeles find and retain stable employment. He is a member of the National Association of Home Builders Multifamily Division Board of Directors, the National Multifamily Housing Council Board of Directors, the Urban Land Institute, the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate and the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council. Mr. Hart holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A. from The University of California Los Angeles’ Anderson School of Management.

Karen Millan

Karen Millan is the Chief Financial Officer of TruAmerica Multifamily and oversees the company’s accounting department, tax and treasury functions, mortgage servicing, and financial reporting. Prior to joining TruAmerica Multifamily, Mrs. Millan served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at JB Partners Group. Prior to joining JB Partners Group, Mrs. Millan served as Controller at Stratus Real Estate. Mrs. Millan holds a B.S. in Accounting from Cal Lutheran University.

Greg Campbell

Greg Campbell is a Director of Acquisitions for TruAmerica Multifamily and is responsible for the acquisition and disposition of multifamily investment properties and sourcing equity capital. Mr. Campbell leads the acquisition and investment efforts in California, Arizona and Utah. Prior to joining TruAmerica Multifamily, Mr. Campbell served as Senior Vice President of Investments at Archstone Apartments, where he oversaw all acquisition and disposition activity for the company’s Southwestern Region. Mr. Campbell also served as Vice President of Acquisitions at Laramar Group. Mr. Campbell holds a B.S. in Latin American Studies & Economics from The University of California Los Angeles and an M.B.A. from The University of California Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Noah Hochman

Noah Hochman is a Director of Acquisitions for TruAmerica Multifamily and is responsible for the acquisition and disposition of multifamily investment properties and sourcing equity capital. Mr. Hochman leads the acquisition and investment efforts in Washington, Colorado, Oregon, Nevada and Hawaii. Prior to joining TruAmerica Multifamily, Mr. Hochman served as Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions at Triumph Management Company. Prior to joining Triumph, Mr. Hochman served as Vice President of Acquisitions for Granite Peak Partners. Mr. Hochman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA and is a graduate of the Anderson Graduate School of Management Mergers & Acquisitions Program at UCLA.
